Basketball Parents:
As a young kid I dreamed of playing college basketball and I would’ve done anything to get there. I’m sure you feel the same about your kids. BUT, don’t let your passion cloud your judgement when it comes to the trainers.
95% of these self proclaimed trainers don’t have the knowledge or skill to help your child grow. They have watched YouTube videos and sold you a dream!
If your trainer charges $50/session for group or $60 or more per session, get rid of them! If the trainer cannot explain why your child is doing a drill or how it is effective, they don’t know what they’re doing! If your child isn’t getting better after two months of training, get rid of the trainer. If your child isn’t learning, fire the trainer! IF THE DRILLS DONT TRANSLATE TO GAMES, fire the trainer!
I’m not being negative, I’m being real. It hurts to see so many people, especially the kids be sold a dream by a person who is only trying to get rich off of exploiting people who don’t know enough to spot of fake. If anything, talk to a college coach. Ask them questions. Check the trainers credentials. Do your homework. Otherwise your kid is going to be let down at the end. Share this to save other parents from experiencing the disappointment of trusting a fraud!
