Frank Timothy Bruce

Frank Timothy “Tim” Bruce, age 64, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2026.

Tim was born on March 30, 1961, in Columbus, Kansas, to Lloyd and Susan Bruce. He graduated from Glendale High School in Springfield, Missouri, in 1979. Following graduation, he proudly served eight years in the Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Susan Bruce; his grandparents; and other beloved relatives.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 20 years, Jennifer Bruce; his sons, Sean Bruce, Justin Bruce (wife Trisha Bruce), and Christopher Reynolds (wife Jessica Reynolds); and his daughter, Tara Verser (husband Jimmy Verser).

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren—Aiden Bruce, Jacob Bruce, Kayelynn Bruce, Re*****on Bruce, Colton Bruce, Kimber Bruce, Morgan Verser, Sylas Verser, Huxley Reynolds, and Evelyn Reynolds—who were the light of his life.

He is also survived by his brother, Ricky Bruce (wife Kimberly); nephews Nick Bruce and family, Taylor Bruce and family, and Lukas Bruce and family; niece Chloe Baguio and family; as well as many friends whom he loved dearly.

Tim dedicated many years to law enforcement, serving as a deputy sheriff in both Webster and Christian Counties, where he worked his way up to detective. Over the years, he also owned and operated his own bonding company and later his own tow truck company. After semi-retiring, he went to work for Republic Services as a roll-off driver, a job he truly enjoyed.

Tim found his greatest happiness surrounded by family — at backyard cookouts, holiday gatherings, and any occasion that brought everyone together. If he had a favorite hobby, it was cooking for those he loved. Whether he was grilling for a crowd, casting a line while fishing, heading out to hunt, riding his beloved Harley on the open road, or simply enjoying the outdoors, Tim was most at peace when he was sharing those moments with others. He truly never met a stranger; to know Tim was to call him a friend. You could often find him on the phone, eagerly sharing stories — and he always had plenty to tell.

Above all, Tim’s greatest pride and joy were his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He loved them deeply and spoke of them often, cherishing every moment he spent with them.

In recent years, Tim discovered a new passion after purchasing a motorhome — “the bus,” as he affectionately called it. Tim and Jenny had big plans to travel across the United States together. They had recently visited New Orleans and were preparing for a trip to the Florida Keys, a place he absolutely loved. The bus quickly became his newest adventure and brought him so much excitement.

Tim lived life fully. He loved deeply, laughed often, and treasured his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 13, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Sac River Cowboy Church, 1440 State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802.

A private burial will be held for the family at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Tim’s honor to the American Heart Association.

Dale Eldon Harrison

Dale Eldon Harrison was born June 10, 1937, in Exeter, Missouri to Myrtle and Robert Harrison. He was one of eight children and like most of his generation, he grew up knowing hard work on the farm. He attended school in a one room schoolhouse on Shoal Creek about a mile from his home.

In 1954 he joined the Air Force and served proudly. After the service he went to work on the Glenn Canyon Dam that formed Lake Powell and then worked as an apprentice lineman for the city of Page, Arizona. After moving back to Missouri, he worked for Paul Mueller for 33 years and was able to visit many countries by doing his job.

After retirement Dale found more time to devote to his passion for restoring vintage cars. He was very proud of the 1940 Ford truck he brought back to life as well as a 1929 Model A Ford Sedan which was featured in Street Scene Magazine.

If he wasn't remodeling his and Corrina's home, he was always fixing or building something. Dale was a true craftsman and was always looking for perfection in his work. They also liked to travel south for the winter in their motorhome and enjoy all the friends they made over the years down south.

For his 80th birthday his son Wesley helped him realize his dream of attending a St. Louis Cardinals game. Dale was an avid fan and loved to watch his team play. That was a very special day for Dale.

His love for sweets was great. He could eat a whole blueberry pie or a whole gallon of ice cream in one setting. Although his favorite treat was Corrina's raisin pie.

Dale was proceeded in death by his parents, siblings Johnny, Larry, Keith and Wanda, and stepchildren Jim and Honey. His wife Corrina, son Wesley, stepdaughters Ginger and Bobbie and siblings Darrell, Bobby and Patty survive him.

Dale left this life March 1, 2026 at the age of 88. His life was long and full of wonderful stories. The service for Dale will be Wednesday March 11, 2026 2:00 pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery 5201 S. Southwood Road Springfield, MO.

Lewis Franklin Uchtman

Lewis Franklin UchtmanJanuary 4, 1956 – March 3, 2026

Lewis Franklin Uchtman was born January 4, 1956, in Marshfield, Missouri, to Evelyn (Snare) and Charles Uchtman. From a young age, Lewis learned resilience in the service of family. When hardship came, he stepped forward, helping carry the family farm and beginning the haying work that would define his life, a testament to his lifelong devotion to those he loved.

On May 19, 1979, he married Gayle Stacey, and they raised their four children together in Marshfield. In addition to farming, Lewis owned and operated a trucking company alongside Gayle for three decades, working long hours without complaint to provide for the family he cherished. He immensely enjoyed traveling the road weekly to Florida to pick up flowers.

He was the proud father of Maegen Uchtman, Michelle Coulter (Jesse), Stacey Uchtman, and Lindsey Callery (Sean). His children were his life’s greatest work, and he loved and cherished them completely.

But the true delight of his later years were his grandchildren. He was “Papa” to Asher (14), Silas (12), Bohan (11), and Quill (9); Porter (10) and Lena (7); and Adeya (14), Haddon (11), Elliot (9), Calvin (7), and Shepherd Lewis (1). They were the light in his eyes and the reward of a life well lived.

Lewis could mend just about anything with an engine, especially if it was John Deere green. He loved tractor pulls and the honest competition of iron against iron. His 1970 Boss 429 Mustang held a special place in his heart and was emblematic of him. Each year he traveled west to Colorado for elk hunting with his brothers and brothers-in-law, a tradition of mountains, campfires, and shared stories that he treasured deeply.

He was larger than life—he was kind, intelligent, and loyal to a fault. If he gave his word, you could stand on it. He loved Jesus with a quiet certainty that carried him through every season.

In February 2021, Lewis was diagnosed with inoperable Stage 4 colorectal cancer. He met it the way he met hard winters and broken machinery: head-on and without surrender. For five years he fought the good fight. On March 3, 2026, after suffering a heart attack, he passed peacefully in the comfort of his daughter’s home, surrounded by love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Maegen; half-sisters Lola Davidson and Dorothy Davidson; half-brother Allan Dahlstrom; sisters Carol Lovland and Shirley Gott; and brothers John and Carl.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle; his children Michelle, Stacey, and Lindsey; his sons-in-law Jesse and Sean; his sister Yvonne Nixon (Dale); and his brothers William (Brenda) and Charlie (Connie); along with his beloved grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his five, dearly-loved brothers-in-law, the Stacey brothers.

The loss of Lewis leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet the fields he worked, the roads he traveled, and the family he raised stand as lasting testimony to a faithful man who lived strong, loved deeply, and finished his race well.

Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:00pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Elkland Independent Methodist Church in Elkland, Mo. with Funeral Services beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery just a short distance from the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Elkland Independent Methodist Church (PO Box 133, Elkland, Missouri 65644), or the Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland, Missouri or, Funeral Fund: Lewis Uchtman, PO Box 120, Elkland, Missouri 65644.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri.

Margaret Marie Wissmueller

October 9th, 1945 - March 2nd, 2026

Margaret Marie Wissmueller, 80, of Springfield, Missouri, entered eternal life on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 3:25 a.m. in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus with her devoted daughter Sarah at her side and her granddaughter Summer keeping faithful vigil.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church (arrangements pending). Burial will follow in Springfield, Missouri.

Margaret was born October 9, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Wm. Charles “Wiss” Wissmueller and Rose Marie (Curry) Wissmueller. She was raised in a family shaped by resilience, faith, and hard work — values she carried throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings who went before her into eternal rest.

She is survived by her siblings: Michiel Wissmueller-Colburn, Sherry K. McEniry, Mary E.W. DeLaet, and William A. Wissmueller, along with extended family members who remained dear to her heart.

Margaret was, as her family lovingly says, 100 percent Missouri mule — stubborn, strong-willed, and immovable once she set her mind to something. That determination defined her life.

In 1983, she became a union carpenter, entering a field where few women stood at the time. She did not ask for space; she earned it. Later, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Construction Management from Missouri State University, proving it is never too late to build something new. She went on to start her own business, Earth Stewards, blending her entrepreneurial spirit with her reverence for creation.

Following retirement, she chose to serve quietly as janitor at St. Joseph Catholic Church and School — work she considered a privilege. She coordinated the adoration chapel, volunteered in the food pantry, and faithfully served her parish and neighborhood community through the Grant Beach Neighborhood Association.

Margaret was a devoted member of the Companions of Mary, gathering regularly in prayer and volunteering with the children of St. Joseph School. She was also a permanent member of the Secular Franciscan Order, living her faith with simplicity, humility, and steadfast devotion.

Above all, she loved fiercely.

She was honest — sometimes bluntly so — loyal without condition, and unwavering in her convictions. If she loved you, she loved you for life. She prayed hard, worked hard, forgave in her own time, and never did anything halfway.

She was the proud mother of Dannele (mother of Samantha), Taggart (father of Bri and William), Talia (mother of Jesse, Alyssa, and Regan), Tonia (mother of A.J. and Jordan), and Sarah (mother of Alex, Summer, and Kyler). She was blessed with seven great-grandchildren who carry forward her strength, resilience, sharp wit, and unwavering faith.

She loved animals tenderly, music deeply, gardening wholeheartedly, and hymns sung from the chest. She found God in blooming flowers, in children’s laughter, and in the quiet flicker of chapel candles.

Her life was not always easy, but it was deeply meaningful. Not always gentle, but always genuine. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, service, devotion, and a love that did not waver.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in the peace she trusted all her life.

100 percent Missouri mule.

100 percent faithful.

100 percent loved.

Crystal Smith

Crystal Bell Smith passed away peacefully on February 22nd, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Crystal was born on May 15th, 1931, to Virgil and Silverbell (Page) Broan in Cassville, MO. Crystal lived most of her life in Springfield, a community she was happy to call home. When she was still in high school, Crystal became a music teacher at The Rainbow Room, where she taught marimba and accordion lessons. Crystal had a deep love of music, and could play any instrument she picked up. Crystal played the organ for over 50 years at Walnut Street Christian Church. Crystal spent the majority of her career as a bookkeeper and office manager at The Credit Bureau of Springfield.

In 1955, she was joined in marriage to Delbert Hutsell. Together, they had two children—Cindy and Rick. They were married until his passing in 1985. In 2001, Crystal was joined in marriage to Richard Smith; they were married until his passing in 2021. Crystal was a loving and devoted wife to both Delbert and Richard, and of all the joys in her life she most loved being a mom, grandma, step-mom, aunt, and great-grandma. Crystal’s love for her extensive family leaves a legacy that will stretch for generations.

Crystal had many talents, but she was widely known as a creative. Over the course of her life, Crystal made countless quilts, Sunday dresses, baby blankets, Christmas stockings, and other homemade treasures. Crystal was always busy doing something—sewing, baking, making music. Her Christmas cookie displays were a sight to behold, and you could always count on a jar of her homemade apple butter among your Christmas gifts. Crystal loved to host family dinners—whether it was a holiday or a Sunday afternoon, you could most often find a handful (or more!) of family members at her home. Crystal’s family brought so much joy to her life, and she to theirs. She will be very deeply missed by all who knew her.

David Landrock Galloway

In Loving Memory of David Landrock GallowayObituaryDavid Landrock Galloway, aged 81, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, love, and tranquility on Friday, February 13, 2026, following a lengthy illness. True to his fun, outgoing, and mischievous personality as a prankster and trickster, it seems fitting that he would choose to leave this world on Friday the 13th.

Born November 5, 1944, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, David was the youngest of three brothers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Margaret Galloway, his father, Charles Andrew Galloway, and his older brother, Andrew “Andy” Galloway, as well as his former wife, Charlotte Lucas. David spent his childhood in Lawrence, Kansas, before moving to Springfield, where he attended Parkview High School and played varsity basketball.

In Springfield, David met his wife, Charlotte C**n. The two married and welcomed their children, Julie and Patrick. Together, the family moved first to Kansas City and later to Chadwick. David cherished the “farm” — an old cabin in Chadwick nestled on 70+ wooded acres with Swan Creek running through it. The farm was the site of many lively parties and gatherings, featuring swimming and water volleyball.

David had a deep love of sports, both playing basketball and coaching youth basketball and soccer. He loved to play golf and was quite an excellent golfer. David was also known for being a great billiards player, where he was a formidable opponent. He is a founding member of Lake Country Youth Soccer. As a businessman, he owned and operated several ventures throughout his life, beginning with Leisure Foam. He was an avid fisherman who spent countless hours on lakes and rivers, and he delighted in camping, canoeing, and spending time in the wilderness with his children and grandchildren. Often, he was the one to set up camp and secure a spot on the Buffalo River for the rest of the family. These adventures created cherished memories of camping, canoeing, fishing, and laughter around the campfire.

Known for his optimism, humor, wit, and compassion, David also adored his dog Sadie and frequently donated to local animal rescues. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time talking, laughing, and sharing glasses of red wine while listening to the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. David loved to travel, always returning with stories full of adventure and misadventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving FamilyDavid is survived by his two children, Julie Galloway-Freeman and Patrick Galloway; their spouses, Rob Freeman and Paulena Galloway; grandchildren Kaitlin and Wesley Batson; his great-grandchildren, Nina & Khaza Thang; his brother Jack Galloway and spouse Janet Galloway, their children Ian and Ross Galloway, and spouse Mariana Galloway; nephews Robbie Galloway and Mark Galloway; nieces Penny, Sherry, and Kelley; step-children Tiffany Caywood-Brunner and Jerod Caywood; and step-grandchildren Alex Carlson, Brady Carlson, Murphy Brunner, Brandon, Kristen, Alexander, and Ashley Carter.
