A unanimous, bipartisan vote to modernize pharmacist licensure in Illinois; replacing the MPJE with a structured Illinois Pharmacy Law Education Module that strengthens competency while removing unnecessary barriers.

Your Advocacy in Action: HB4154, Amendment 2 has officially passed out of the House Health Care Licenses Committee on a vote of 14-0 and is now headed to the House Floor.

This is a critical step forward in modernizing pharmacist licensure in Illinois—removing unnecessary barriers like the MPJE while maintaining strong, education-based competency standards that reflect today’s practice.

This progress does not happen by chance. It happens because pharmacists across Illinois are engaged, informed, and speaking with one voice.

Your Advocacy in Action: HB4793 has passed the Illinois House with a unanimous 109–0 vote.

This is what commonsense, patient-centered policy looks like. HB4793 empowers pharmacists to address non-therapeutic gaps in prescriptions, reducing unnecessary delays and ensuring patients get the care they need without disruption. It reinforces the role of pharmacists as accessible, trusted healthcare providers working collaboratively with prescribers.

Now, we build on this momentum. The Senate must act to move this important reform forward and continue improving patient access across Illinois.
