How can I resist intrusive lies in my mind?
“In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one,” (Ephesians 6:16–17). This imagery is of the round shield of the Roman soldier used to block the weapons of the enemy.
We are to use our faith, the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen ,(Hebrews 11:1) by continuing to rehearse the truth and choosing the next right biblical step based on truth, not our feelings. May we take a stand against, resist, and challenge the devil’s schemes and lies one moment at a time.
This is the “resist” part of James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Humbles yourself under God’s mighty hand, resist (stand firm against) the enemies lies and he will flee. The enemy is the "father of lies" (John 8:44) and does not get to define you. All for God's glory and our good.
