Meet Patty❤️

Through CoxHealth at Home Hospice, moments of joy still shine-even in the smallest, most meaningful ways. When a therapy dog walks through the door, you don't just see a wagging tail, you see a reaction that reaches far deeper. 🐕🐾

"Look at the smile on her face," Patty's husband Larry said as the therapy dog entered the room. For hospice patients like Patty, moments like this remind us of something powerful: even when words fade and memories feel out of reach, connection still finds a way.💕

For patients living with Alzheimer's or dementia, pet therapy often unlocks emotions and responses that may otherwise seem hidden. A gentle nuzzle, soft fur, or familiar presence can spark recognition, calm anxiety, and bring comfort in ways words cannot. These simple interactions can ease agitation, encourage engagement, and create moments of peace, for patients and their loved ones alike. 🫶

This is the quiet impact of pet therapy. This is why these moments are everything, for Patty, for her family, and for all those in hospice care whose hearts light up at a familiar face, a gentle nuzzle, or a wagging tail.🐾

Three great CoxHealth organizations – Oxford HealthCare, Home Support, and Home Parenteral Services – have joined together to become CoxHealth at Home. What does this mean? It means that home care, hospice, palliative care, home medical equipment, tube feedings, respiratory therapy, ventilator therapy, power mobility, home infusion, ostomy/urological and specialty pharmacy are now all under one roof. How simple is that?
