It will be Friday, March 20th from 6-8pm at the Lampo Event Center in Neosho!

Members of our team were recently recognized at the Missouri Rehabilitation Association Southwest Chapter Awards Banquet, hosted by empower: abilities!

✨ Kimber Wright, Administrative Assistant at Firefly’s College Road location, received the Outstanding Support Staff Award.

She helps keep the day-to-day work of our teams moving so services run smoothly for the people we support.

✨ Nicole Brumley, Employment Specialist, was named Employment Specialist of the Year.

She works directly with individuals to build confidence, develop skills, and connect them with meaningful employment in the community.

Congratulations, Kimber and Nicole!

🧩 Mar 5 Create Lorax paper strip crafts
☁️ Mar 9 Match different weather conditions
🪁 Mar 11 Go kite flying at Schifferdecker Park
🍳 Mar 13 Make snacks together in Cooking Class
🍀 Mar 16–19 Celebrate St. Patrick’s week with crafts, trivia, and fun activities
🏀 Mar 23–25 Explore basketball-themed crafts and counting activities
🔬 Mar 26 Practice math skills with an “Adding Baskets” activity
🚌 Mar 27 Take a trip to the Discovery Center of Springfield
🌸 Mar 30–31 Finish the month with creative crafts and a flower measurements activity

All month long, we’re staying active with Walking Club, collecting recyclables across the community, and delivering Meals on Wheels to support the Webb City Senior Center.

Our El Dorado Day Program has been experimenting, exploring, and enjoying every opportunity to connect with their community!

From Valentine’s Day crafts to drum-set jam sessions, and even a trip to the Crawford County Historical Museum, this group always finds the fun.

Transition Services provide opportunities for young people to contribute to a real workplace, with real tasks and real support.

Our Firefly job coaches guide small groups of students as they learn routines, build skills, and prepare for employment after school.

The goal isn’t practice for practice’s sake. It’s familiarity, confidence, and a path forward.

Conner was recently named Firefly’s Direct Support Professional of the Year. This spring, that recognition continues at the national level!

Through the ANCOR American Network of Community Options and Resources National DSP of the Year Awards, local work is connected to a broader effort: improving support, strengthening the workforce, and honoring the people who make community living possible for individuals with disabilities.

We’re proud to see Conner’s work represented as part of that national conversation, and proud of the team beside him doing the same work here every day.

Recognition may travel nationally, but the impact still lives right here at home.
