🎉 It’s , and we’re continuing to share stories from our Change a Life Challenge, where we gave 50 people $100 to go change someone's life.

Kathy H. shared her story:
"When I won $100 in the Change a Life Challenge, I kept thinking about the simplest form of love: feeding a child. And how heartbreaking it must feel for a parent to know they’re falling behind on even that. So I called a local elementary school and quietly asked if they had any families carrying lunch debt. The secretary paused, then said softly, “Yes…quite a few.”

Some balances were only a few dollars. Others had been sitting there for months. All of them belonged to kids who were doing their best to walk through their school day like everyone else - kids who didn’t choose their circumstances, kids who might feel the sting of embarrassment every time they stepped into the cafeteria.

With my $100, I paid off as many accounts as I could. And with each small debt, I kept picturing my own baby someday standing in that lunch line. I imagined him holding a tray, not knowing whether his account was negative or not - just trusting that the world would take care of him.

As I handed over the money, the secretary’s eyes filled with tears. “You have no idea what this means for so many families,” she said. But as a mom, I knew exactly what it meant. It meant relief. It meant one less worry. It meant a child eating lunch with dignity instead of fear.
