On June 11th, the State of Illinois will enter Phase 5 of reopening. While this means that those who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear a mask in most situations, mask must still be worn in any healthcare setting regardless of vaccine status, this includes the dental profession.

Please understand that we must follow the guidelines that are given to us and be kind to our staff if they ask you to wear a mask while in the building.

Oops! We updated our confirmation system. We did not get hacked. We have worked out the kinks but apologize for the confusion. The new number you will be receiving confirmation calls from will be 217-302-8343. This is NOT a new office number. Thank you to our patients for always being amazing!!

As COVID cases in our area continue to rise we just wanted to reassure you of the safety protocols we have in place in our office.

1. Our waiting room remains closed. When you arrive at the office please call and someone will come to your vehicle when your room is ready. We will take your temperature and have you fill out a COVID release form before entering the building.

2. We ask that only the patient enter the building to help decrease the amount of traffic in and out of the building.

3. Our staff remains masked the entire day. When necessary we will also wear a face shield.

4. We have added air purifiers in each operatory and have also added a UV purifier to our air unit. When having a procedure that produces aerosols, a high power evacuation system will be utilized to prevent the spread of those aerosols.

5. Upon entering your operatory you will be asked to rinse with Peroxyl mouthwash to decrease the amount of bacteria in your mouth.

We are considered an essential business and will continue to remain open. We appreciate the trust you continue to place in us during these times.

Just a shout out to all our patients who have been fantastic during these unusual times. We thank you for entrusting us with your care and following along with all our extra protocol procedures. Thank you for helping to keep our staff and fellow patients safe!

If you haven't been into the office during this time we please ask that you remain in your vehicle and call upon arrival. One of our staff members will come to your vehicle and do a temperature check and have you fill out a few forms. When you are seated in your room you will be asked to rinse with a peroxide based mouth rinse to decrease the microbes. Our staff will remain masked the entire day and when working on you will wear a face shield. We also have placed air purifiers in all the rooms and installed a UV filter on our air unit.

Our patients are the best in town!! Thanks for your patience!!

We hope this post finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our constant commitment to your safety.

As you have surely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our strict processes have consistently made the care you receive both safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

When it is time for your next appointment, you may see some changes along with our already strict infection control protocols. For example:
Our office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

When entering the office, we will ask you to use hand sanitizer which we will supply. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

You may see that our reception area will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and other items which cannot be properly disinfected. You are encouraged to bring your own iPad, reading materials, etc.
Should you choose, you may wait in your car and be texted when we are ready to bring you directly to the treatment area.
Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered slightly limited options for scheduling your appointment.

We will do our best to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends in the safest way possible.

Sincerely,

Kraig D. Osborne, DMD, D.ABDSM & Staff

We sincerely hope you find this useful. Please let us know what else we can do for you.
