Today happens to be my birthday. My Aunt Irene believed women could lie about their age. She never actually lied. She simply refused to say.

I use to think I would lie. And I did lie when I was on dating apps because my experience in admitting I was 50 meant I received responses from men 65+ while 50 year old men were seeking women 35-45.

But other than dating I never lie. Gawd, I never thought I’d make it to this age! (But what nine year old can imagine being 69!) So why lie. I’m damn proud I’m still breathing.

And speaking of being 69, I plan on celebrating all if 2026 in memory of this last decade.

I am not waiting to make a big deal when I turn 70 in 2027 cause I have no idea what 70 is. But I know what my 60’s has brought and what it’s meant and I’m darn grateful.

If you are in the Eugene Springfield area or nearby, I hope you’ll come to celebrate this past year with me. ❤️

This is a good week to think before we act. To allow our logic to override our emotions. A good week to use our critical thinking mind. The smartest among us are willing to gather the opinion of others, ask for help, change their mindset, are open to new deas, and are flexible about their own beliefs. This week we all have the opportunity to become smarter.
