Have been in NYC for the past week with friends and family.

Last night my brother and brother-in-law hosted a gathering for my book. I cannot thank them enough or the friends and family who came to cheer the book on.

After my talk, we had a lively discussion with many wonderful ideas and contributions from those in attendance. We talked about love, how to find inner peace, and what any of this spiritual work can offer humanity.

Ultimately, I think we all agreed that staying hopeful, no matter how one achieves this, is possible and so very important for our mental health and the world.

I left the evening feeling uplifted, not only from hearing that my book is so welcomed and that folks bought more copies for others, (thank you!) but also by all the healing messages shared in the room.

We are all healers and we do need each other for support, encouragement, and the reminder that we each matter and therefore treating each other with kindness matters most.

You all know I am gaga about ART! in my next life, maybe I’ll be a Painter. I so admire people that can see the world around them and then actually get those images on paper or a canvas. It kind of blows my mind how it gets done and don’t tell me I could do it too because I have tried and I have no aptitude for it period. does however! and when I was in Seattle recently, I got to go to a gallery to see his work. Lucky me.

Merriam Webster dictionary defines judgment this way:
"Judgment is the cognitive process of forming opinions, evaluating circumstances, or making decisions based on discernment and comparison....

We are called to make judgments everyday, lots of judgments - from which laundry soap am I going to buy to is that friend still worth the time of day?

The fact that the Rider-Waite-Smith deck married judgment with awareness is very clever. Imagine our sense of contentment if we were truly aware/awake about what's motivating our judgments or why we are making a judgment or maybe simply trusing our intuition to show us the way.

We are very awake/aware when we compare the price of Kirkland brand laundry soap with Tide in order to buy the one less expensive.

Why not be aware and awake when we judge each other? Why not be aware/awake when we let go of a passion project because of fear?

This week the message is about staying aware about the judgments we make. And perhaps rather than "shooting from the hip," we wake-up to the what and why of the judgments we are making.
