This Thanksgiving, we pause with grateful hearts for the blessings God has placed in our lives — for faith, for family, and for the gift of cherished memories. 🍂

At Calvary Cemetery, we give thanks for the privilege of serving families in their moments of remembrance and hope, and for the sacred trust of caring for those who have gone before us.

May your Thanksgiving be filled with peace, joy, and the gentle assurance that love — in Christ — endures forever.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1

On this Feast of Christ the King, we honor Jesus Christ — ruler of heaven and earth, whose reign is one of mercy, peace, and everlasting love. ✝️

As the liturgical year draws toward Advent, we are reminded that His kingdom is not bound by time, but written on every faithful heart.

Here at Calvary Cemetery, every cross, every name, and every prayer testifies to His promise: that life in Him never ends.

“His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away.” — Daniel 7:14

Today the Church celebrates Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music and musicians. 🎶

Her life reminds us that even in times of trial, faith can sing — and every note of praise reaches heaven.

May her example inspire us to find God’s presence in beauty, in song, and in the quiet harmony of a thankful heart.

“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live.” — Psalm 104:33

Today we honor the brave men and women who have served our nation with courage and devotion. 🇺🇸

At Calvary Cemetery, we are grateful to care for the resting places of so many who answered the call to serve — each a reminder of sacrifice and love for others.

May we never take for granted the peace their service has preserved.

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13

On this All Souls’ Day, we remember and pray for all who have gone before us in faith.

Every candle, every flower, every whispered prayer reflects our love and trust in God’s mercy. 💛

We invite you to pause today — wherever you are — and pray for the souls of all the faithful departed, that they may rest in the peace of Christ.

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.”

Today we celebrate All Saints’ Day, a time to honor every soul who has entered the glory of Heaven — both the well-known saints and the quiet ones who lived their faith in everyday life.

Their stories remind us that holiness is found in simple acts of love and in trusting God through the ordinary days.

As we walk among these sacred grounds, we are surrounded by their example — faith, courage, and the promise of everlasting life. 🌿

“Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.” — Matthew 5:12

Today, the Church honors the Feast of St. John Paul II.

A true shepherd of the Church, he called the world to holiness with his famous words: “Do not be afraid. Open wide the doors to Christ.”

St. John Paul II showed us the path of courage rooted in prayer, fidelity to the Eucharist, and deep love for Our Lady. He reminded us that authentic freedom is found in surrender to Christ and that every human life—no matter how small or fragile—is a gift of God’s love.

🙏 Prayer for Reflection
St. John Paul II, pray for us.
Teach us to be steadfast in faith,
to defend the sanctity of life and family,
and to entrust ourselves always to Jesus through Mary.
May we, like you, be fearless witnesses of Christ’s mercy. ✝️

📖 The middle of October is a good time to pause and remember the guiding power of God’s Word in our lives.

Scripture is not just a book of the past—it is alive, speaking into every season of our journey. In moments of doubt, it gives us clarity. In seasons of sorrow, it brings comfort. And in times of joy, it reminds us of the Source of every blessing.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105

At Calvary Cemetery, we walk these sacred grounds with faith, hope, and love, trusting that Christ—the Living Word—continues to light the path before us. His Word assures us that even in the valley of grief, we are never alone, and that every step taken in faith draws us closer to the promise of eternal life.

May we always turn to God’s Word as our compass, our comfort, and our light, allowing it to shape our hearts and guide us home to Him. ✝️

✨ Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

The Rosary is more than a prayer—it is a journey of love that draws us closer to Christ through the heart of His Mother. Each bead is like a step with Mary, leading us into the mysteries of Jesus’ life, His suffering, and His triumph over death.

🙏 Prayer for Reflection
Mary, Queen of the Rosary, intercede for us.
Cover us with your mantle of peace,
and guide our hearts always to your Son, Jesus.

May the Rosary be our weapon of faith, our refuge of hope, and our chain of love that unites us with Heaven. ✝️

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

St. Francis reminds us to live simply, to love deeply, and to see the goodness of God in all creation. His life shows us that holiness is found in humility and peace.

🙏 Prayer for Reflection:
St. Francis, help us to live with joy and simplicity.
Teach us to care for all God has made,
and to trust in His love each day. ✝️

On this day, the Church honors the three archangels named in Scripture:

St. Michael is described in the Book of Revelation as the leader of the heavenly hosts who defends God’s people against evil.

St. Gabriel appears in Scripture as God’s messenger, announcing to Mary that she would bear Jesus.

St. Raphael is known from the Book of Tobit as the angel who guides Tobias on his journey and brings healing to his family.

The Church celebrates them together on September 29, a feast known as Michaelmas, reminding us of the many ways God sends His angels to protect, guide, and heal His people.

Please note: the photos shared today are not from Calvary but were taken at the Holy Angels Columbaria at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery, Ohio. Calvary Cemetery will be receiving a new columbaria similar to this one at the gazebo.

Born Francesco Forgione in a small Italian village, Padre Pio became a Capuchin friar known worldwide for his prayer, humility, and deep love of Christ. In 1918, after celebrating Mass, he received the stigmata—the visible wounds of Christ—making him a living witness to the mystery of the Cross.

For more than 50 years, he quietly heard confessions, celebrated Mass, offered spiritual direction, and welcomed pilgrims seeking peace. In 1956, he founded the “House for the Relief of Suffering,” a hospital that still serves thousands today.

Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968, and was canonized in 2002 by Pope John Paul II. His feast day reminds us that even in suffering, faith and love can become powerful sources of healing and hope.

At Calvary Cemetery, we join the Church in celebrating the Feast of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, remembering his devotion to prayer, charity, and compassion.
