So much holiday joy in one visit

Laketown Elementary’s 1st and 2nd grade music classes filled our space with Christmas songs, shared stories with residents, and even brought along a special visit from Santa. Smiles all around!

Wrapping Paper Rollin’

Yesterday’s Wednesday workout got a festive upgrade as our residents used wrapping paper rolls as their “weights” for a fun stretch and cardio session. There were lots of laughs, lots of movement, and plenty of holiday spirit rolling around the room.

Our favorite furry friends stopped by for their monthly visit and they came with bells on, literally. This month’s dog group brought extra holiday cheer with jingling collars, Santa hats, and plenty of cuddles.
Our residents lit up the moment they walked in. These visits always bring so much joy, and today was no exception.
Thank you to our amazing pet therapy volunteers for making the season even brighter.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this past week at Villas at Sangamon Valley. Our residents have been busy crafting festive creations and decorating trees throughout the building.

The holiday spirit is officially in full swing, and everything is looking more cheerful by the day. More Christmas fun to come.

12 Days of Crafting has officially begun!

Today we kicked things off with the cutest minimal Christmas tree door hangers — simple, stylish, and full of holiday charm!

Our residents had a great time creating their first project of the season, and we’re excited to keep the creativity flowing each day leading up to Christmas. Stay tuned… there’s so much more festive fun to come!

December 3rd is all about creativity, kindness, and the joy of giving. Today, we’re celebrating Make a Gift Day by encouraging everyone to create something heartfelt — whether it’s a handmade craft, a card, a treat, or a small gesture of appreciation.

Our community loves days like this because they remind us that the most meaningful gifts aren’t always bought… they’re made with love.
We can’t wait to see the thoughtful creations our residents and staff come up with!

On Thursday, our families and residents came together at Sangamon Valley to celebrate gratitude, connection, and the joy of being together.

Our incredible Dietary Team prepared a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving meal that filled the room with warmth, comfort, and smiles. It was a beautiful afternoon of sharing stories, enjoying great food, and appreciating the moments that make our community feel like family.

We are grateful for everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration so special.

Hearts Full of Gratitude!

The rain may have been cold, but our hearts were full! This past Friday, Region 1 came together to deliver complete Thanksgiving dinner boxes to local seniors in need.

We’re incredibly thankful to our partners, Senior Services of Central Illinois and Springfield Supportive Living for helping us identify families to bless this holiday season.

A special shout-out to Humphrey's Market, a beloved Springfield staple since 1932, for providing the delicious frozen dinner boxes.

Despite the dreary weather, the day was a beautiful success — filled with community spirit, teamwork, and the joy of giving back.

We were honored to celebrate our veteran residents with a special ceremony hosted by Traditions Hospice. The event included a heartfelt pinning ceremony, thoughtful reflections, and delicious treats shared in gratitude for their service.

We are proud to serve those who have served — thank you to all the brave men and women who have defended our freedom.
