Medetomidine is showing up in Western MA's drug supply. We've found it in 1 out of 5 fentanyl/dope samples across 3 counties. This sedative is stronger than xylazine and can cause deep sedation and serious withdrawal.

If you use drugs: Come see us for free, confidential drug checking. Talk one-on-one with our harm reduction team who can answer your questions and provide support.

Community members: Tapestry provides trainings to first responders and medical professionals on medetomidine response. We also have Naloxone access and trainings.

Harm reduction saves lives.

The Tapestry Regional Office hosted a winter clothing drive in support of Harm Reduction’s Give the Heat initiative!

Regional staff donated coats, hats, scarves, chapsticks, and many other essential winter items. Harm Reduction accepts critical supplies year-round, including socks, gloves, boots, sleeping bags, warming layers, tents, tarps, and hygiene essentials like lip balm and hand warmers.

Every donation helped keep people safer and warmer throughout the season and beyond.

Due to significant snowfall and local town hall delays, the Holyoke Offices will be opening at 10:00 am. The Greenfield Harm Reduction Office will be opening at 10:30 am. The Greenfield Clinic will open at its regularly scheduled time.

Bob from our Harm Reduction team recently shared an overview of the work happening at our Springfield site with regional staff.

The presentation covered the Harm Reduction Team's work with syringe access, overdose prevention, drug checking services, naloxone distribution, HIV/STD screening, and community-based outreach. Bob also shared updates on new drug checking availability in Springfield and how this data supports both individual safety and broader public health efforts.

In addition to all the hard work our Harm Reduction staff do, the presentation underscored the importance of partnerships, education, and harm reduction resources in our region.
