Applicants must have their own form of transportation, CPR/First Aide, 8-hour DSP training , Medication Administration, 60-hour DD Longevity training are a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe for any changes in condition or behavior.
Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in accordance with health standards.
Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to assist with mobility and prevent injury.
Document care activities accurately in compliance with agency policies and state regulations; update care plans as needed.
Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being.
Observe and report any signs of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities to the appropriate team members.
Support residents during emergencies by implementing first aid procedures or CPR when necessary; coordinate with emergency responders if required.
Collaborate with team members including nurses, social workers, and therapists to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Job description:

Supporting Independence, LLC. has shifts available for FT and PT DSP positions in the Springfield and South Charleston areas. 1st, 2nd & 3rd shifts available

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with less than 6 points, an insured vehicle, speak English, have a car for transporting individuals and a clean criminal background check.

Duties:

Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Administer medications and monitor health conditions
Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
Assist with meal planning and preparation
Assist individuals with everyday purchases
Accompany individuals to appointments and community outings
Document and report any changes in behavior or health status
Cooperating with remote support personnel to ensure uninterrupted services
Skills:

Experience in senior care, patient care, assisted living, dementia care, behavior management, nursing home, home care, or hospice care
Familiarity of the rights of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities

Full-Time work for Supporting Independence, LLC is a base schedule that has 30 hours and over.
