Rob van Brederode, DPM, W. Aaron Broyles, DPM, and Thomas Verla, DPM of Alta Ridge Foot Specialists provide comprehensive foot and ankle care to our patients in North Carolina. We treat foot and ankle problems of adults and children of all ages. Our specialized training and state-of-the-art technology ensure that each patient receives expert treatment for excellent outcomes. Our practice provides podiatric medicine and foot surgery. We specialize in sports medicine, resolving heel pain, and children’s foot problems. At Alta Ridge Foot Specialists, we treat a wide variety of foot ailments including plantar fasciitis, bunions, corns and calluses, toenail fungus, ingrown toenails, hammertoes, warts, and nerve pain. We also specialize in ankle injuries. Dr. van Brederode and Dr. Broyles are board-certified in foot surgery. We use both in-office and hospital facilities to address bunions, neuromas, skin lesions, bone spurs, foot and ankle fractures, tendon repair, and flatfoot reconstruction. Along with an expert and excellent medical and surgical care, we offer kindness and respect for each individual patient. After an accurate diagnosis, we will devise a treatment plan unique to you and your foot problem. For the ease of our patients, we have three offices in western North Carolina: Mars Hill, Spruce Pine, and Boone. Each has convenient office hours and ample parking. Details:

Medical Assistant
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Assist during medical examinations
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
NOTE: NO medical background or training is needed. A high school diploma is the only educational requirement. All paid training will be provided. Ability to learn quickly, a positive attitude, and the ability to positively interact with staff and patients are our main criteria in hiring a new assistant.

Salary: $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Mondays @ Spruce Pine office 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM,
- Tuesdays @ Mars Hill office 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Wednesdays Pine office 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Thursdays variable
- Fridays @ Spruce Pine office 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Hours per week:

- 30-35

Supervisor:

- Physician

Administrative Duties:

- Scheduling
- Insurance verification
- Answering phones

Clinical Duties:

- Sterilizing instruments
- Performing X-rays
