Health-e-Schools Telemedicine Program Serving Avery, Brunswick, Burke, Caldwell, Duplin, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Pender & Yancey County Schools

In September, 2011 HeS launched in 3 schools in Mitchell and Yancey counties in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina. Since that time, we have expanded to include all 13 public schools in McDowell county, including McDowell Technical Community College, and 6 schools in Burke. We also now serve a combined 14 sites in Mitchell and Yancey counties. Currently, over 10,000 students have easy, affordable, comprehensive access to healthcare where they spend the majority of their time - at school.
