We are truly grateful to Gateway Fiber for sending a team of volunteers to support our homes last week. They jumped in to help with basement clean outs and organization projects at a few of clients' homes, and the difference they made was immediately felt by our staff and the individuals we serve. Staff shared especially positive feedback, noting how helpful, hardworking, and genuinely appreciative the volunteers were throughout the day.

Transportation Is Access. Access Is Opportunity.
Reliable, accessible transportation is not a luxury—it is essential. For individuals with disabilities, having the right vehicle means access to healthcare, employment, community life, and independence.

Emmaus is applying for multiple federally funded accessible vans through the Missouri Department of Transportation to continue meeting the growing transportation needs of the individuals we serve. These vehicles will help ensure Emmaus clients can safely and consistently access the opportunities that allow them to live full, meaningful lives.

A few weeks ago, something happened that stopped our team in their tracks.

Dave stood up.

For most of us, standing is automatic.
For Dave, it meant connection.
It meant confidence.
It meant being seen eye to eye, not looked down at from above.

Dave uses an adaptive iPad to share his thoughts with the world. He tells jokes. He asks questions. He shares opinions. And when he stood up, he used it to tell us exactly what that moment meant to him.

Moments like this don't happen by accident. They happen when people believe every person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in living with independence and purpose.

🎉 What’s in the Box… REVEALED! 🎉

✨ Drumroll, please… ✨
An Amazon Echo Show — and we are beyond excited to congratulate Sarah Zull, who guessed correctly and won the drawing! 👏💙

To everyone who guessed, commented, shared, tagged friends, and followed along all week — THANK YOU. Your energy, enthusiasm, and support made this so much fun, and we are incredibly grateful for this amazing community.

Sarah will be receiving an 8-inch Echo Show, and an 11-inch Echo Show will be given to one of our Emmaus homes. These devices are especially meaningful in our homes because they support accessibility, independence, and connection — helping individuals stay connected with loved ones, follow daily routines, use voice commands for hands-free support, and engage more fully in everyday life.

We loved every guess and every interaction — and we can’t wait to do this again. 💙
