Today is National Leisure Care Employee Day! To all of our employees, thank you for your dedication to making Fairwinds the amazing place that it is. Our renovation has started and we are SO excited! We look forward to sharing pictures along the way! P.S. I found a construction photo of the hallways from when we were being built...that is included, too! Our main building opened in May of 2004. Heck - a couple of us have been with the community longer than or around the time of the main building's opening! A couple photos of such staff from yester-year are also included. FACT: Our villas opened before the "Big House" in September 2003.

Yesterday was our final Fitness Frenzy event! We hosted an Art Sale, where residents got to sell their own art and other items they created to raise money for Birthright St. Charles. We had everything from gorgeous paintings, to a hand woven basket, to hand crocheted afghans. We had a lot of fun raising money for an incredible organization.

Our Annual Fitness Frenzy Silent Auction was so much fun! We auctioned off 50 items and raised money for Birthright St. Charles! We also announced our 50/50 Raffle and Scratch-Off Raffle winners! Ran won the Scratch-Offs and Larry won the 50/50. Congratulations to everyone who won a basket or a raffle.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for making this event such a huge success. Because of you, we can make a huge difference in our community. I can proudly say we have made many lives better over the years. We have made a measurable difference in our local community and I am SO PROUD to be a part of this every year.

A special thank you to Katie, who put together most of the baskets that were auctioned off. Her dedication to sourcing materials and making the baskets so beautiful really showed. We wouldn’t have an auction without her. Her creativity and thoughtfulness while making each basket was evident. Katie, you make everyone at Fairwinds so proud.

Thank you to Gloria and Malena for helping run our Silent Auction, and for dedicating so much of your time to raffles! Thank you Becca for helping me process the winners and get everyone’s baskets delivered to them quickly! Thank you to Neal for helping setup and tear down and Will for setting up tables.
