Sometimes, our rights feel guaranteed and we take them for granted. But for many, even locally, those rights are not a given. Human rights are positive, essential, and attainable for all!
What is something you’re glad to have been able to choose to do today? How can you support others in making those rights achievable for them too?

We honor those that lost their lives to HIV and companion those who mourn. We advocate for continued research.

We honor those that lost their lives to HIV and companion those who mourn. We advocate for continued research.

On World AIDS Day, we honor the lives of those lost to HIV, along with the resilience of those who have paved the way for progress.

But the Trump administration’s cuts to HIV funding threaten the gains that we have made. It is our responsibility to carry on the legacy of those who we’ve lost by doubling down on the fight to end the HIV epidemic.

Today is not just a day for remembrance — it’s a call for action.

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan throughout your day. But there is power in the pivot!

Take a few breaths, dance it out in your office, treat yourself to a coffee. Do what you have the capacity to do in that moment.

Let me know about a quick pivot you have done in your day to empower you.

“Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people—sometimes in the most brutal ways possible—it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.” —Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) founder Gwendolyn Ann Smith

As PFLAG members and supporters—as human beings—it is imperative that we boldly, loudly, and publicly honor those we have lost to anti-trans violence and hate. Our trans loved ones deserve to thrive and be their authentic selves, not to be the victims, scapegoats, and targets of those with cruel political agendas. PFLAG will continue to fight for equal rights and access to medical care, and advocate side-by-side with our trans loved ones so that they are safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved in every aspect of their lives. 🏳️‍⚧️

Here are some actions you can take this Trans Day of Remembrance:
• Reach out to your local PFLAG chapter to find TDOR events in your area. (Find your chapter at pflag.org/find)
• Take action against trans violence, by joining Fighting For Our Pride. This grassroots, nationwide campaign focuses on advocacy at the state and local levels where the most harmful legislation against our trans loved ones is being passed. Learn more about the campaign, and take the pledge at pflag.org/FightingForOurPride

Welcome to Mental Health Mondays! Check in with us every Monday to see how we can challenge you to improve your emotional headspace. Alongside Funeral Women Lead, we will highlight ways to handle burnout and develop emotional intelligence.
Sleep is essential for mental well being. Good sleep improves brain function, boosts your immune system, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases. Sleep is also crucial for cell repair and growth. Quantity and quality sleep matters. How much sleep you need will differ, but the average person needs 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Sleeping in a dark cool room with no electronics can improve the quality of sleep you are getting. Do you think you are getting enough sleep? How can you improve your sleep hygiene this month?
