Tip for this week, if you're not getting enough fruits and vegetables throughout the day, throw it in a smoothie and take it with you! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿ Every morning I make a smoothie and add all of the following ingredients. I also like to rotate fruits and vegetables so it doesn't get boring. By lunchtime, at least I know that I've gotten a very good amount of fruits and vegetables in! ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

From 2018-2023, I was either pregnant, giving birth, and/or exclusively breastfeeding/pumping. Can you imagine all the interrupted sleep night after night? ๐Ÿ˜ด In those 5 years, I could probably count on one hand the number of nights where I actually got more than 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Needless to say, getting good quality sleep has been high on my to-do list! Your body does so much when you're sleeping and boy, was I missing out on all these amazing benefits.

How COLD is your shower?

One of the simplest things I've incorporated into my daily routine is taking a few minutes of cold shower. ๐Ÿšฟโ„๏ธ There are several reasons why they're beneficial. My favorite reason for doing it is to build my resilience to stress. I'm training my body to respond more effectively to stress... which then leads to the question, where else would this stress tolerance be helpful in my life? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜„

Here are a few other benefits to mention:

When people hear magnesium, they think sleep and relaxation ๐Ÿ’†, which is absolutely true, but there are also at least a dozen more reasons why magnesium is so beneficial. A few are listed in the picture below. ๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŒฟ

Did you know that magnesium is necessary for the activation of vitamin D in the body? ๐ŸŒž When sunlight hits the skin, it triggers the production of vitamin D, but this inactive form of vitamin D needs to be converted into its active form through a process that requires magnesium. And thatโ€™s just one of many ways that magnesium and Vitamin D work synergistically together. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ช

You can increase your magnesium intake by consuming foods that are rich in magnesium such as leafy greens, nuts and seeds, fatty fish, legumes, avocados, bananas, and even dark chocolate. ๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿฅœ๐ŸŸ Also, incorporating a magnesium supplement will probably be beneficial, but remember to check with your trusted healthcare provider first. Having used both types for many years, the clear choice would be a masticating juicer. The quality and quantity of the juice triumphs saving a few minutes on time.
