Our Columbia ABA clinic has been buzzing with creativity and growth as our clients explored a series of engaging themed weeks designed to build daily living, communication, and social skills.

For Cooking Week, the clients practiced following steps and trying new foods. Community Helpers Week encouraged pretend play, teamwork, and understanding of community roles, with each activity bringing learning to life.

Messy Play and Five Senses Week invited exploration through touch, smell, and sound, helping clients strengthen sensory regulation and curiosity. Finally, Routines Week focused on independence with essential self-care skills like hand washing and brushing teeth.

These interactive themes reflect our mission in action: empowering our clients through meaningful, hands-on experiences that make learning fun, functional, and full of joy!

Our December Employee Spotlight is Kyle! Kyle has worked for UCP Heartland for 9 months as a Community Registered Nurse where he provides nursing care and oversight to our Residential clients. He also provides related trainings for new employees.

He enjoys seeing our clients thrive in the community. “While each person is different, I love seeing each client live life to their fullest and having a role in making that happen.”

Kyle is proud of the impact of his role and the passion he has for it. “Stepping up and volunteering to do the Lift and Transfer training has allowed me to meet nearly all of the incoming employees, so I have made deeper connections in that way as well.”

He feels others should work for UCP because of how fulfilling and positive it is. “If you want a job that you can be proud of the work you do each day and want to know that you're directly making a difference, this is the place to be!”

We are so excited to announce the 2026 UCP Heartland Gala and Auction! Our organization has bloomed this year with increased clients, fundraising, and overall growth! As we strive to continue to plant seeds of change, we are so grateful to be filling needs within the community.

This year's Gala theme, Where Hope Blooms, focuses on our mission of providing the support and care needed to help people living with disabilities blossom with independence!
