A little St Louis Birth History for you ❤️

Dr. Fred Duhart, a family practice practitioner for 38 years and the only St. Louis-area doctor who delivered babies for women wanting to give birth at home.

He was the first African American to graduate from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1970 and began a family practice in north St. Louis County in 1971.

Dr. Duhart attended well over 5,000 births, she said. "He is known throughout the entire birthing community, and there's great respect for him," she said.

For women desiring a home birth, Dr. Duhart was their only legal option in the St. Louis area for a birth attendant.

There is so much to learn and when it comes to car seats there is one rule many parents haven't heard of: infants shouldn't be left in car seats for more than an hour at a time, and they should never nap in a car seat outside the vehicle.

This photo of what a 7 year IUD looked like upon removal was shared on a support group and shared with permission. "Where did the copper go?" The answer is that it is embedded in this woman's uterine wall and now needs to be removed surgically. Sending warm support to her in that process:( Unfortunately, this problem is just one of a long list of adverse effects from both Copper & Hormonal IUDs.
