Hear me out.
A lot of what people describe as ‘tight’ — hamstrings, hip flexors, upper traps, low back — isn’t always short muscle tissue.
Many times, it’s a muscle working overtime because something else isn’t doing its job.
When a muscle is weak or not being loaded properly, your body will create tension as a form of protection. That tension feels like tightness. So you stretch it. It feels better… temporarily. Then it comes right back.
Why?
Because you didn’t address the root issue: strength and control.
From a chiropractic perspective, adjustments can help restore joint motion and improve how the nervous system communicates with the area. But long-term change happens when we pair that with strength training and proper load.
Mobility without strength doesn’t stick.
If something always feels tight, it might be time to ask:
Is it actually tight… or is it undertrained
