Trauma therapy often focuses on the most vulnerable people being taken advantage of, or people being exploited during vulnerable moments in their lives. People that use power structures to gain power and authority to abuse others and act immorally should not be overlooked, nor their actions minimized. Witnessing abuse of power can be triggering for trauma survivors who recognize the familiarity of injuries incurred, denied, minimized, victim-blamed, and retaliation, and lack of justice or remuneration.
