This week we had an amazing community based garden therapy group! We got to start a variety of plants from seed in our new greenhouse. Building community, reducing isolation, and sparking hope felt incredible. Can't wait to see what's in store for spring gardening!

Spring into action! Making seed bombs is easy with just three ingredients: clay (abundant in St Louis yards), compost, and seeds! This activity is a sensory delight and super fun. Where will our seed bombs land? (We'll make sure to use non-native seeds responsibly.)

Create a hanging mobile with your little one in this workshop with me at studio. Your budding artist will craft a mobile on a large branch with design elements and objects from nature. Parents will assist their child as needed. This workshop provides playful prompts to follow and is recommended for children ages 2-6 and their caregivers. Class is limited to ten children, and one space should be purchased for each child; caregivers do not need a separate ticket.

We had such an amazing time creating plant markers, learning about seeds and how gardens grow and planting seeds .pear.nature.school! We read a great book that highlights the challenges and unique qualities of growing things at home and the value of shared time planting and tending a garden. The kids did a great job with their hand writing and digging skills and loved getting their hands in the dirt. We can’t wait to see what grows!

Discovered these bright pressed pansies while adding fresh spring blossoms to my altered book for pressing. I adore how they retain their color and prove resilient enough to thrive in St Louis' freezing winters! A few plants made it through and one even bloomed. They’re one of the first flowers you see at garden centers in spring and last in fall! Welcome bursts of color after long periods of grey! These flowers are also perfect for flower pounding. Can't wait to explore more!

Grief is non-liner and very hard to navigate. It affects us all throughout our lives in different ways. During this .connect training we all looked at how we can support our clients in their grief journey. We all shared about our own personal struggles with grief and learned from each other as well. Certainly a heavy topic but adding play in the mix can make it a little more manageable.
