It means so much to me to hear that my clients credit their beautiful births to their yoga practice! What made your birth beautiful?

Prenatal Yoga is the best way to prepare your body and mind for an unmedicated birth. Did your yoga practice help you achieve the birth you were dreaming of? For me, for me, birth was the ultimate practice of yoga. I share this not to make anyone who needed medicine or surgery for birth feel bad, but to empower those who are on the journey towards birth and wish to prepare themselves as best they can for an uncomplicated, unmedicated birth. Much love and respect to all who have brought life into this world. Every birth is a miracle.

"Active management of the placenta will reduce the chance of a PPH in a setting that does not support physiology and in which routine intervention is the norm." In contrast, it may increase the chance of a haemorrhage after a physiological birth.

Check out our sequence The Birth Salutation. Much like the Sun or Moon Salutation, this sequence is a homage to one of the greatest powers we are aware of in this life. The Birth Salutation is a daily practice designed to promote balance, strength, flexibility, circulation and optimal fetal position. When the uterine ligaments and pelvic floor muscles become too tight or strained, our babies can have a hard time finding a comfortable position to be born in. This can lead to long labors and unnecessary c-sections. Even if you are not pregnant, this sequence may help you to prepare for the metaphorical birth of something you are working to create in your life, a project, a new lifestyle, a career change, etc. In a nutshell, the Birth Salutation helps us to get out of our own way and allow whatever is growing inside of us to be released into the world. Enjoy!

What happens when you bring a bunch of mamas to the woods, feed them good food, guide them through yoga and introspection, and allow them the time and space to rest and reconnect with themselves? Pure magic! Our first Mother Nurture Retreat for Moms was a huge success. Shout out to of for being my retreat doula! You helped make this event beautiful and seamless. Thank you! And thanks to all the mamas who showed up for themselves and helped us create and powerful healing container. Our next Mother Nurture Retreat is coming up in March. PM for details.

Woman Gives Birth To Baby In Pacific Ocean Without Medical Help

A video clip of a woman from Nicaragua giving birth on the shoreline of Playa Majagual, Nicaragua went viral.

Josy Peukert and her partner Benni Cornelius drove to the beach in Playa Majagual, Nicaragua to deliver their son, Bodhi. Bodhi was born healthy at 3.5kg.

Peukert delivered her baby without medical help. The couple only had a birthing tool kit, including towels, a bowl with a sieve to catch the placenta, gauze, and paper towels.

Peukert explained the reason to give birth in the ocean:

I got this idea in my head I wanted to give birth in the ocean and because the conditions were right on the day that's what I did.

According to Daily Mail, Peukert talked about the experience:

After Bodhi was born and wrapped up in towels I went back into the ocean to freshen up. Then I got dressed and we packed everything up and drove home where the three of us got straight into bed.

After sharing her experience online, Peukert received divided comments about her choice to give birth in the sea.

However, Peukert, who is now a mother of four, stood by her decision:

Bodhi was born in the midday sun when it was about 35 degrees, we weren't worried at all that he'd be cold and I had no concerns about waterborne infections. He is perfectly healthy. I did all the research I needed to to make sure it was safe.

My first birth was traumatic in a clinic and my second birth was a home birth but by the third even a midwife in my home was too much. This time I had no doctors appointments or scans or outside influence.

We didn’t have a due date or deadline for the baby to arrive we just trusted that our baby would make its way. I had no fears or worries to welcome a new little soul into our lives, just me, my partner and the waves. It was beautiful.
