Today S.H.E.R.A.H. and a host of other mentoring organizations were presented with a Resolution from the City of Saint Louis for our longstanding work with youth. Today reminded me that slowing down is not stopping, it’s reflection. Grateful to everyone who supported this work by being a board member, donor, school partner, parent and participant. This resolution is for you! Special thank you to for including us in this special moment!

Today, take five minutes just for YOU. Breathe deeply, stretch, smile.
Sisters, how do you practice self-care?”

The story of S.H.E.R.A.H.

Founded in 2004 as a sister circle, S.H.E.R.A.H. works to create safe spaces for women and girls of color. We host sister circles, healing circles, retreats and conferences. Since inception, we have worked with over 2000 women.

We also host a girls empowerment program called the LOVE Project, where we teach young girls of color about self-love, sisterhood, community development and entrepreneurship. We work with over 500 girls each week.

We also have a safe house for young women who have experienced sexual violence and chronic homelessness. We can house seven people at a time providing them with counseling, life skills training, financial empowerment and more.
