Homemade uncrustables that are quick, easy, and freezer friendly. Perfect for busy mornings, lunchboxes, or after school snacks. Just flatten the bread, add your filling, seal the edges, and freeze. They thaw by lunchtime and save so much time during the week.

Try fillings like:
• peanut butter and banana
• peanut butter and jelly
• peanut butter and strawberries
• cream cheese and berries
• turkey and cheese
• hummus and cucumber

Post Easter Reflection: What Did You Notice?
Yesterday may have been filled with family, food, and traditions—but sometimes holidays can also highlight our relationship with food in ways we don’t always expect.

Here are a few things you might have noticed (in yourself or others) that can signal a more complicated relationship with food:
• Feeling anxious or preoccupied leading up to the meal
• Skipping meals earlier in the day to “prepare”
• Labeling foods as “good” or “bad”
• Guilt or shame after eating certain foods
• Comments about “needing to work this off”
• Feeling out of control around food or overly restricted
• Comparing your plate (or body) to others
• Difficulty being present because of food thoughts

If any of these came up—it doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you. It means your body and brain might be trying to navigate food in a way that feels safe… even if it’s exhausting.

You deserve a relationship with food that feels:
• flexible
• peaceful
• and sustainable
Holidays can be a mirror—not a measure of success or failure.
If this resonated with you, you’re not alone and support can make a huge difference.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day, and April is Autism Awareness Month.
A time to recognize and celebrate neurodiversity while continuing to grow in understanding and support.
One area that is often misunderstood is nutrition.
Autistic individuals may experience differences in how they eat due to sensory processing, routine, interoception, and nervous system regulation.
For some, this may include avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder — also known as ARFID.
What can ARFID look like?
• strong sensory aversions to textures, smells, or temperatures
• a limited range of safe foods
• low appetite or lack of interest in eating
• anxiety or distress around trying new foods
It is not just “picky eating” and it is not something that improves with pressure.
Supportive nutrition care looks like:
• respecting safe foods
• reducing stress around meals
• building trust over time
• meeting each individual where they are

Awareness matters. Understanding and support can make all the difference.

For many people, food hasn’t felt simple in a long time
There may be years of dieting
rigid rules
fear around certain foods
or feeling out of control around others
Nutrition counseling isn’t about adding more rules to that
It’s about understanding what led you here
supporting your body
and helping you rebuild trust with food, step by step
Whether you’re navigating disordered eating or a diagnosed eating disorder, you deserve care that feels supportive, not restrictive.

March is National Nutrition Month - A time to recognize the important role nutrition professionals play in supporting nourishment, healing, and recovery.
At a recent networkED continuing education event, Erica Branz and Michelle Wilson had the opportunity to connect with fellow clinicians and continue deepening their knowledge in eating disorder care. We’re grateful to be part of a community committed to compassionate, evidence based support.
