Inclusion isn’t just about opening the door. It’s about making sure the care inside truly reflects the identities and experiences of the people who walk through it.

For many people, these patterns are inherited—passed down through generations where obedience mattered more than autonomy and silence mattered more than boundaries.

You are allowed to choose differently.
You are allowed to honor your healing.
You are allowed to step out of patterns that no longer serve you.

Support makes this possible.

We love seeing thoughtful, compassionate conversations about food and health show up in our local community. Our founder and owner, Erica Branz, was recently featured in O’Fallon Area Living, sharing perspective on navigating the holidays without guilt or pressure around food.
This season can bring a lot of mixed messages, and Erica’s piece centers on something we care deeply about – supporting the whole person and making space for joy, connection, and nourishment.

As the holidays arrive, conversations around food often shift toward guilt, restriction, and “getting back on track.” In this month’s expert column, Erica Branz, Registered Dietitian and Founder of Branz Nutrition Counseling, invites readers to step away from diet culture and refocus on what truly supports well-being—connection, nourishment, and joy.

Health is more than a number on the scale. It includes emotional, mental, and social wellness, too. This season is a reminder that enjoying holiday traditions, favorite foods, and time with loved ones is not a setback, but part of a full, healthy life.

Read the full article to learn how intuitive eating can help foster a healthier relationship with food and body—especially during the holidays. For those looking for personalized, compassionate nutrition support, Branz Nutrition Counseling offers individualized guidance rooted in trust, balance, and sustainability.

When food feels “all-consuming,” it’s rarely about discipline. It’s about unmet needs.
Your body increases food thoughts anytime it senses restriction—physical or emotional.
Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” try asking,

“What is my body asking for?”

This shift changes everything.

Last Friday’s self defense seminar with 10th Planet JiuJitsu in O'Fallon, IL was a great collaboration and we were so grateful to be part of it. It was inspiring to see so many women show up to learn practical skills and try something new.
A special thank you to Vanessa Sims for leading the session and to our dietitian Andrew Youck for helping make this event happen. We appreciate everyone who attended, shared the event, and supported the night.
We look forward to offering more opportunities like this in the future.

Helping kids build confidence with food and trust in their bodies isn’t just about the moment in front of them—it shapes how they move through the world for years to come.

Kids aren’t meant to battle diet culture on their own.

They learn how to treat their bodies by watching how we talk, respond, and support them. Small shifts—offering neutral language about food, encouraging curiosity over control, and honoring natural cues—can create powerful ripple effects.

At Branz Nutrition Counseling, we help families create a home where food feels safe, bodies are respected, and kids grow up knowing they’re enough exactly as they are.

Let’s turn down the volume on diet culture by turning up connection, compassion, and confidence.
