Yike’s journey is one of strength, resilience, and hope. Growing up in Guangzhou, she loved spending time with friends and staying active through badminton, basketball, and track. So when fatigue suddenly took over, her family knew something was wrong.
Yike was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. After beginning treatment in China, her family made the difficult decision to relocate to Tennessee so she could receive further care at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Throughout intense chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, Yike refused to give up. Today, she is in remission and looking toward a bright future — planning to finish high school and study psychology in college.
Her story is a powerful reminder of why St. Jude exists: to give kids the chance to grow, dream, and thrive.
