Grateful for the powerful discussion at CREW St Louis' "Unwell by Zip Codes" event, which explored healthcare disparities rooted in St. Louis' history. The panel emphasized the ongoing connection between real estate development and healthcare access in our region. These conversations are essential for understanding how we support the development of more equitable communities.

CREW St. Louis spent a beautiful fall Saturday morning exploring the history of Cahokia Mounds, one of the most significant Indigenous cultural sites in North America.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Julie Zimmermann for sharing her deep knowledge of the people who built and lived within this vibrant urban center long before European contact. Her perspective helped us better understand not only the scale and sophistication of Cahokia, but also the enduring legacy of the Indigenous nations connected to this land.

As an organization focused on building communities, we recognize the importance of learning about Cahokia Mounds and honoring the sovereignty, resilience, and contributions of the Indigenous people whose history is rooted here.

What a great turnout for the Psychology of Self Promotion event for CREW St. Louis! We had the pleasure of hearing from Amy Lemire, of AIM Training & Consulting, on the keys to self-confidence, and she did not disappoint!

Amy reminded a packed room that self-promotion isn’t about ego or arrogance – it’s about knowing your value and being intentional about sharing it with others. It’s about owning your story and being proud of your accomplishments. She reminded the audience that now is the time to step up, speak about what we bring to the table, share our experiences, teach our lessons, and most of all – be proud of our greatness. It is time to start believing in ourselves and remember that now is the time to step up, share, speak, and support ourselves. It is time to remember that now is the time to stop hiding and start doing. Share something today. Share something you are passionate about. Share something you did, can do, and make it a habit that is done every single day.

Amy’s words clearly resonated, as you could see the head nods and smiles around the room. We’ve all been there – struggling to speak up, fearing judgment, or feeling like we don’t deserve a seat at the table. But Amy’s message hit home: your voice matters. Your story matters. And you don’t need to wait for the “perfect” opportunity. You just need to begin.

It was inspiring to spend the afternoon surrounded by so many amazing CREW members—all eager to grow, learn, and lift one another up. Thank you, Amy, for reminding us to slow down, stay present, and take the next step forward, starting today!
