Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are dental specialists who treat conditions of the teeth, mouth, jaws, and face. The specialty encompasses diagnosis, surgical, and related management of disease, injury, and defect of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the oral and maxillofacial regions including preventive, reconstructive, and emergency care. Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital-based surgical, medical, and anesthesia training after the completion of undergraduate work and dental school. With specialized knowledge in pain control and advanced training in anesthesia, the Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon is able to provide quality care with maximum patient comfort and safety in an office setting. The surgeons of our 21-year-old practice frequently perform oral surgical procedures such as wisdom-tooth removal, bone grafting, and dental implant placement. They are nationally- and internationally-recognized experts, receiving referrals throughout the United States for the treatment of complex surgical cases such as temporomandibular joint surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant pathology, corrective jaw surgery, and microsurgical nerve repair.
