Colposcopy vs. High-Resolution Anoscopy (HRA)… what’s the difference?
While both use advanced magnification and illumination to detect abnormal tissue, the key difference comes down to where and why they’re used.
Colposcopy focuses on the cervix, va**na, and v***a, often following abnormal Pap or HPV results.
HRA targets the a**l ca**l and peria**l region, helping identify a**l dysplasia in high-risk patients.
Both procedures rely on:
✔️ High-magnification optics
✔️ Bright, consistent illumination
✔️ Early detection of precancerous changes
Understanding these differences helps providers choose the right approach and deliver better patient outcomes.
