Drjameca Emergence Psychological Services was founded by Dr. Jameca Woody Cooper in Saint Louis Missouri.

Career Highlights: After teaching psychology, Dr. Woody Cooper launched her own psychotherapy practice in 2006. This has allowed her the privileged opportunity to meet and cultivate lifelong relationships with the citizens of Saint Louis, MO. Dr. Woody Cooper received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Tougaloo College in 1996, a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998, and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology also from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002. Dr. Woody Cooper became a psychologist because of a strong desire to analyze and investigate. She wants her patients to believe that it is possible for them to become a smarter, healthier and more enlightened individual at any age.

We often talk about the rising cost of everything, but we rarely talk about the rising cost of staying silent. 🧠💬

As a practice owner, my goal has always been to remove barriers to mental health care. One of the biggest barriers? Cost. That is why I am incredibly proud to announce that we are expanding access to therapy through our Counselor Training Program.

You can now see one of our talented, supervised counselors-in-training for just $50 per session. 🎓

This isn't "practice therapy." This is real, effective clinical work provided by dedicated professionals who are completing their final hours of licensure. They bring the latest evidence-based training, fresh perspectives, and weekly supervision from me (which means you actually get a team of experts working for you behind the scenes).

If you’ve been putting off therapy because of the cost, this is your sign. Message us with any questions or click the link in comments to go to the website and send us a message or request to book a session.
Let’s make 2026 the year we prioritize you. 🩷

I’m honored to be featured in Nurse Magazine’s latest article, “8 Surprising Therapeutic Techniques That Changed How Professionals Approach Patient Care”

In the feature, I shared how personalizing therapy through a client’s interests can transform their healing journey. One of my most memorable experiences involved a client who loved painting and together, we turned that creative passion into a structured technique for managing anxiety and reducing stress.

It’s a reminder that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. When we meet clients where their passions live, healing becomes not just effective, but deeply personal.

✨ I’m grateful to the Nurse Magazine team for highlighting this work and inviting me into such a thoughtful conversation.

As a criminal psychologist, I’ve seen both transformation and tragedy.
But the question remains.
Can everyone change? what do you think?

When a client tells me this…my heart melts every time. 💛 Therapy isn’t just about healing what hurt you, it’s about becoming the woman you were always meant to be.
If you’ve been struggling to see yourself as a priority this is your sign it’s time.

It's my birthday today! and just a few thoughts...

When I was little, the adults around me often told me to stop talking so much.

I talked a lot… and frequently got into trouble because of my mouth.

But what they didn’t realize back then is that my curiosity, questions, and words would become my greatest strengths.

If I could hug that little girl today (as in the AI photo), I’d tell her:
“Keep talking. Keep asking. Keep wondering. Your voice will take you places your silence never could.”

A little trouble never hurt nobody, especially when it’s the kind that helps you grow into who you’re meant to be. 💫

You’re not the only one quietly burning out, you’re just the one hiding it best. it’s time for real self-care, not just survival mode.
