To my Black LGBTQIA+ family β€” we are the blueprint. We are culture. We are resilience wrapped in melanin and magic.
In a world that tries to silence us, erase us, or box us in, we continue to rise β€” boldly Black, unapologetically q***r, and divinely made. Our joy is resistance. Our love is revolutionary. Our existence is powerful.
Never forget: you come from strength. You deserve softness. You deserve safety. You deserve love that sees all of you.
Stay proud. Stay powerful. Stay Black and brilliant. πŸ–€βœŠπŸΎπŸŒˆ

Today we celebrate the beauty, strength, and resilience of the Black LGBTQIA+ community. πŸ–€πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ
We are powerful. We are creative. We are leaders, innovators, artists, parents, friends, and changemakers. From the courage of pioneers like Marsha P. Johnson and Bayard Rustin to the brilliance we see in our communities every single day, our legacy is one of love and liberation.
Black q***r joy is revolutionary. Black trans lives are valuable. Our stories matter. Our voices matter. Our existence matters.
May we continue to uplift one another, create safe spaces, and walk boldly in our truth β€” unapologetic and proud. ✨
Love is love. Black is beautiful. And we deserve to thrive. πŸ–€

Ayanna Washington, also known as Miiyaya Adero, is a St. Louis based artist whose work spans murals, canvas, and wearable art. In 2016, she founded her art and clothing brand, Invision Your Empire, as a way to turn creativity into purpose and community impact. Her work is rooted in empowerment, cultural pride, and storytelling, using art as a tool for healing and inspiration. Beyond her creative practice, Miiyaya is a dedicated community mentor for young ladies, pouring back into the city that raised her. She is deeply motivated by her love for her wife and son, who inspire her to build a legacy grounded in creativity, integrity, and service. Through her art and mentorship, Miiyaya continues to create spaces where vision, confidence, and community can thrive.

Starting Today!!

🌧️✨ Rainy days hit different.

To my Black q***r family β€” may today feel like soft permission to slow down. Let the rain be a reminder that rest is revolutionary, softness is strength, and your existence is a masterpiece in every season. πŸ–€πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Light a candle. Play that song that holds you. Wrap up in something warm. The world can wait β€” your peace matters.

Even on gray days, you are color. πŸ’œ

There’s just something about a sunny day here β€” the sky feels bigger, the air feels lighter, and the whole city seems to glow. From the views near the Arch to neighborhood strolls, it’s the perfect day to get outside and enjoy every minute. πŸ’›

Sunshine + St. Louis = a pretty perfect combo. 🌞✨
