Fun can happen without alcohol. If you are of age and choose to use, be careful about mixing:
⚠️ Mixing alcohol with caffeine (like energy drinks) can be risky. Caffeine can make you feel more alert, but it doesn’t reduce alcohol’s effects, which can lead to drinking more than you realize.
⚠️ Mixing alcohol with other substances (including certain medications or drugs) can increase the risk of dehydration, blackouts, or overdose.
Your body processes one substance at a time, and combining them adds stress.

1 in 10 women live with endometriosis, yet so many are told their pain is “normal.”
Women’s bodies are different from men’s. Hormones, immune systems, and pain responses all function differently.
Severe period pain is not “normal.”
Chronic fatigue is not “dramatic.”
Debilitating cramps are not “just part of being a woman.”
Don't forget: your body is worthy of understanding.

Everyone concerned about prevention cancer should learn about HPV vaccines. HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is a very common virus.
However, HPV is preventable through vaccination. If left unvaccinated, could lead to cancers of the throat, cervix, p***s and re**um.
We will continue to foster community, discuss topics surrounding s*xual health including taboos, and overall have a great kickoff to March. Bring your friends and be ready to engage!

Before March gets busy, take a moment to check in with yourself:
1. What’s one intention you’re setting for March?
2. How are you really feeling right now either physically, mentally, emotionally?
3. What drained your energy last month, and what gave you energy?
4. What’s one habit you want to strengthen this month? (Sleep, hydration, movement, boundaries, journaling…)
5. What do you need to let go of to grow?
March is your fresh page. What will you write?

Science shows that staying physically active doesn’t just strengthen your body– it also supports your mind.
Regular movement helps improve mood, sleep quality, and even how your brain handles stress and hormones!
Tips to get started today:
• Go for a walk outside
• Try a short yoga or stretch session
• Dance to your favorite song
• Take the stairs instead of the elevator

This February, show some love for your heart! Each of us can make small changes in key areas that add up to a big difference in our heart health.
Take small steps toward better health: quit smoking, limit alcohol, eat well, sleep enough, and manage stress with regular movement.

Starting the conversation early makes a difference.
Access tools and resources designed to help parents and teens talk with each other about alcohol and other substance use. Open, honest conversations build trust, confidence, and prevention.
Eating disorders affect women, men, boys, girls, and people of all genders.
The American Psychological Association reports that boys and men make up about one-third of those diagnosed with an eating disorder. Male body pressures often focus on muscularity or leanness, which can lead to compulsive exercise, excessive protein use, or performance-enhancing substances.
Breaking the stigma means recognizing that support is for everyone.

Founded in 2008, the SPOT meets the needs of ALL youth between the ages of 13-24 with a comprehensive set of FREE medical and support services in a safe, youth-friendly environment. Our staff has met the needs of over 19,000 youth seeking medical care, social services, substance abuse assessments and counseling, mental health counseling, a safe place to hang out and much more.
Our philosophy requires that the SPOT be structured around the following guiding principles:
remove barriers that currently impede youth from seeking or obtaining health and prevention services;
create a center separate from a child or adult clinic environment that is youth-specific;
combine needed health and social services into a single setting;
engage youth in all aspects of the program development and allow opportunities for their leadership to be fostered;
successfully link youth into the existing healthcare system by addressing and eliminating specific barriers.
The SPOT is open Monday-Friday and provides the following services:
Drop-in: grab a snack, take a shower, do laundry, work on the computer, watch TV, participate in structured activities, and take home safer s*x kits;
Medical care: FREE medical services available Monday-Friday 1-5PM on a first-come first-serve basis (pregnancy testing, birth control, pap smears, STD testing, strep tests, etc.)
Counseling: talk to a licensed counselor about coping with stress, depression/sadness, anxiety/worries, alcohol/drugs, s*xuality and gender, work, school, trauma/bullying, or any problem or goal;
Testing: walk-in testing every day for HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, and trichomoniasis, plus free treatment for positive results;

In the end, it doesn’t matter why you come by. You’ll always feel like you belong at the SPOT.
