2025 was my year of Centeredness.

I’ve always been a multi-passionate person. I loved my Etsy shop and I truly enjoyed the conversations on my podcast. They were pieces of me, but I realized they were taking pieces of me, too.

I didn’t have the time to give them the devotion they deserved, and more importantly, they were detracting from my ultimate vision: creating a dedicated sanctuary of healing for this community.

To grow, I had to return to my center.

I chose to set an Intention rather than a list of rigid goals. Goals are often about "hitting a number" or "checking a box," which can feel restrictive and lead to shame if life gets in the way.

But Intentions? They are about a way of being.

By setting the intention of Centeredness, I allowed myself the grace to pivot. I stopped doing "all the things" so I could do the right things. That shift in energy is exactly what created the space to welcome Madaleine to the Lotus Rising team!

Looking ahead to 2026... I am carrying that same intentional energy into a new word: MASTERY.

This year isn’t about just "doing more." It’s about deepening our impact and refining our mission. In 2026, we are:
✅ Growing the Practice: Expanding our team to hold more space for you.
✅ Mastering Culture: Bringing the Lotus Rising mission into the corporate world to help organizations heal from the top down.
✅ Gathering: Hosting deep-dive workshops—including our first one on March 7th!

"But I'm still getting everything done."

I hear this constantly in my office. We think that because the laundry is folded, the emails are sent, and the kids are fed, we can't possibly be burnt out.

This is called High-Functioning Burnout. Your external world looks perfect, but your internal world is running on fumes.

Functioning is not the same thing as thriving. You deserve to do more than just "get through" the day.

We often use the words "stressed" and "burnt out" interchangeably, but they feel very different in the body.

Stress is usually characterized by too much. Too much pressure, too much to do, too much adrenaline. You are anxious, but you are still trying.

Burnout is characterized by not enough. Not enough motivation, not enough emotion, not enough caring. You feel empty, detached, or cynical.

If you have moved from "panicked" to "numb," your nervous system is asking for help.

We often confuse being tired with being burnt out. But there is a difference.

Sleep fixes tiredness. Sleep does not fix burnout.

If you are waking up after 8 hours of rest but still feeling drained, heavy, or cynical about your day, your nervous system might be stuck in survival mode.

Becoming a Better Self

I have an bachelors in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University Missouri St. Louis (UMSL).

I have worked in an inpatient drugs and alcohol rehab and as a Community Support Specialist. These experiences have taught me how things are connected and how when one part of our lives are suffering it can seep into others.

I enjoy working with people who are having difficulties in their relationship, dating life and divorce. As a counselor I want to find your strengths and empower you to a better self. I want to help you decided what’s worth staying for and what isn’t.

I am currently a counselor at Diversity Health and Wellness Center in Kirkwood. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and use it along with other therapy styles that fit your needs.
