Feeling really grateful to be part of something meaningful happening here in St. Louis.

On March 5th, I’ll be joining veterans, civic leaders, and business leaders for The Welcome Home Forum: Missouri’s Veterans Leading the Way—a gathering focused on leadership, service, and what actually supports veterans as they transition, lead, and heal.

I’ll be offering a Veterans Mental Health Update, including a look at recent Missouri legislative activity and a grounded, clinical conversation about alternative and emerging approaches to veteran mental health care.

Veterans deserve more than applause. They deserve access to care that’s thoughtful, ethical, and effective. 💙 Oh, and by the way, this event is open to the public.

If you’d like to attend The Next Mission: Missouri’s Veterans Leading the Way, you can register here:

Honored to be part of the conversation and hopeful about what’s possible when leadership, policy, and lived experience come together.

January doesn’t need fixing. It needs listening.

If you’ve been quietly curious about psychedelic-assisted therapy — what’s real, what’s ethical, and what’s actually legal — I’m hosting a free live Q&A on January 12.

You’re welcome to listen in quietly, skeptically, or simply with curiosity.

Beyond the buzz.

There’s a lot of noise right now around psychedelics — big claims, fast promises, and very little grounding.

My work lives on the other side of that: where ethics matter, nervous systems lead, and questions are allowed to be slow.

On January 12, I’m hosting a free live Q&A for anyone curious and cautious about psychedelic-assisted therapy.

No hype. Just honest conversation.

As the year winds down, I’m noticing how many people aren’t looking for big answers — just clearer questions.

Not resolutions. Not reinvention. Just honesty.

If you’re ending the year feeling curious, cautious, or quietly considering what support might look like next, you’re not behind. You’re listening.

🌿 New from Psychology Today! Why Your Nervous System Keeps Choosing What Hurts

Ever notice how your body pulls you back toward the same kind of hurt — the same dynamic, the same story? It’s not weakness. IEver notice how your body pulls you back toward the same kind of hurt — the same dynamic, the same story? It’s not weakness. I ’s wiring. 💡

This new article explores why our nervous systems crave the familiar, even when it hurts — and how healing begins when we start listening differently.

We repeat what feels familiar, not what feels good. Healing begins when we help the nervous system relearn what safety actually feels like.

For the past 25+ years, I’ve walked with clients through the often difficult but courageous work of healing. Today, I’m deeply moved to expand that path with the launch of psychedelic-assisted therapy at Transformation Counseling.

With the right preparation, support, and integration, psychedelics can offer profound insight and emotional relief. I'm now offering guided, legal journeys in Oregon and Colorado for those ready to explore this work.

🌿 I had the honor of being interviewed by The Missouri Independent, where we explored the evolving landscape of mental health, trauma healing, and the future of psychedelic-assisted therapy. We talked about the heart of this work — the kind that reaches into the roots of pain and plants something new: possibility, presence, and deep reconnection.

This conversation was meaningful, layered, and timely. If you're curious about the intersection of therapy, healing, and expanded states of consciousness — I’d love for you to give it a read. ✨

✨ New on the blog: “Spiritually Bypassing Hard Feelings” ✨

Psychedelics aren’t a detour around your pain—they’re a doorway through it. In my latest article, I unpack how spiritual bypassing can show up in psychedelic spaces, and why facing our shadow is the true path to healing.

This one’s for the seekers, the feelers, and the brave-hearted.

🔗 Read here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/next-change-is-inevitable-growth-is-optional/202504/spiritually-bypassing-

Psychedelic healing isn’t about quick fixes. True growth comes from facing discomfort, integrating emotions, and walking through the shadows to find lasting transformation.
