ASHP - SSHP at UHSP

The student chapter of ASHP at UHSP! Serving Pharmacy students interested in residency! Also referred to as American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

SSHP focuses on gaining education, support, and advancement for future careers in hospitals and other health-care systems. Focusing on mastery of clinical skills, learning about emerging technologies, and staying up-to-date on public health issues are additional concerns of the organization. Members are able to network with residents, residency program directors, and pharmacists within the clinical setting and outside of the workplace. ASHP is the accrediting body for pharmacy residencies and is a 35,000-member national professional association that represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, long-term care facilities, home care, and other components of health care systems.

Join us March 31 from 12-1 in ARB222 for a time to connect with practicing pharmacists, ask questions about their career paths. Pizza and drinks will be served to all in attendance. Students will be entered into a raffle for attendance and participation.

Meet Elyse Engebretson who is a member of the 2023-2024 executive board!! She is looking forward to raising more awareness about the benefits of attending mid year for not only P4 students but all professional students. It’s a great way to network and gain exposure to research happening in pharmacy! Her favorite food is stuffed red peppers and she currently work at St. Luke's Hospital.
