Katie is 65 and never really considered having a facelift…

Natalie is 52, has the bubbliest personality, and is a tiny dynamo.

👉Not everyone wants to wait until their transformation will be dramatic.

🎬For instance, many of my more publicly “visible” patients would rather not have media coverage of a shocking change… they’d rather maintain, and subtly enhance, their appearance before advanced aging sets in.

Fillers and nonsurgical treatments only go so far, and overreliance eventually creates a puffy, “filler fatigue” look.

It doesn’t happen all at once - it’s insidious.

The solution, if you’re game? The “early maintenance” facelift.

Kelly, 57, has been a member of my surgical team for almost 10 years.

5️⃣months for Marga from Spain!

🤯It’s wild when you think about it.

My team and I arrived in Barcelona to teach the current standard in deep plane facelifting.

Early in the morning, while it was still dark outside, we walked into a hospital room and met Marga, our patient for the day.

For the first time ever.

She and I had never even spoken before.

She was chosen by the local surgeons hosting the Spanish Society of Facial Plastic Surgery () annual meeting.

She was very excited, but also understandably super nervous.

I am grateful she put her trust in me and my team, and very thankful for the staff of Clínica Sagrada Família for providing a safe environment to do the surgery.

While Marga was going to sleep, I gave a lecture on my techniques so that the surgeons watching at the meeting would understand what they were about to see happen in real time.

Marga’s facial rejuvenation included:

👴🏾🗣️Old man rant on three controversial topics currently resonating in the facelift social media echo chamber…

👉Are there possible insurmountable consequences of permanent fillers, energy based devices, and poorly-done primary surgery, or should surgeons be able to work through pretty much any challenge with no effect on outcomes?

👉Submandibular gland debulking – is it safe or totally necessary?

👉Deep plane versus SMAS techniques: is this really the most important consideration in facelift outcomes?

It’s easy to sound like an authority on social media – but not everyone who speaks with confidence has deep, firsthand experience in the topics upon which they are opining.

Everything in this video is my personal opinion - informed by 22 years of obsessive focus on facelift surgery.

Leslie is 19 months postop and sent me an update from home!

She was my live surgery model for the TeoNayak Congress in Istanbul.

In front of 500 other plastic surgeons, I did a deep plane facelift, deep necklift, lower blepharoplasty, browlift, minor fat transfer, and a TCA peel to her lower eyelid wrinkling.

She bled quite excessively during surgery, so I used hemostatic net sutures to prevent her from bleeding in the first few days after the surgery (see last photo).

It was a good educational experience for those watching to see that technique in action in a stressful situation.

As you can see, the sutures truly left no marks.
