Minority Association of Pre-Health Students

Minority Association of Pre-Health Students The Minority Association for Pre-Medical Students (M.A.P.S.) is a pre-med chapter of The Student National Medical Association (SNMA).

The purpose of this organization is to provide underrepresented pre-medical students with the knowledge, skills, and experience that are both prerequisite and concomitant to professional participation in the medical field. SNMA is the nation's oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. This organization shall strive to enhance the recruitment of underrepresented students into the medical career, enrich the academic and professional development of these students, and produce competitive medical school candidates who are knowledgeable of the medical school admissions process. This organization is committed to increasing the matriculation of underrepresented/minority students into medical school. This organization shall facilitate interaction between its pre-medicine members and the educators and administrators of the institutions medical professionals, for recruiting activities, the exchange of pertinent information and materials, and the identification of resources and mentors. It shall also provide a means to address any other concerns the members may have. MAPS at SLU welcome all students who are underrepresented in professional health care fields and plan on earning a higher degree in a health care field. https://www.instagram.com/slu_maps/
