We’re proud to spotlight Jamie!
(Jamie Orr Kaelin)

This year, Jamie organized the second annual Santa Fun Run, bringing together nearly 200 participants to support Angel Tree — an organization that provides Christmas gifts for children with an incarcerated parent.

It’s a powerful example of how leadership, initiative, and heart extend far beyond the workplace. Jamie’s commitment to community impact reflects the values we strive to live out every day at BioTech X-ray.

November is National Home Care & Hospice Month — a time to recognize the healthcare professionals who meet patients exactly where they are.

At Biotech X-ray, we work alongside home health and hospice teams every day. We see the long hours, the emotional demands, and the steady commitment it takes to bring comfort, dignity, and quality care directly into patients’ homes.

These caregivers show up in challenging environments, often without fanfare, to support some of the most vulnerable individuals in our communities. Their work is essential, and it makes a measurable difference.

To every nurse, aide, and care provider showing up with excellence and compassion: thank you. Your service matters more than you know.

At BTX, we understand that every exam feels urgent when patient care is on the line. But to preserve speed and efficiency across all facilities, we ask that STAT exams be used only for truly time-sensitive cases.

Here’s when to use stat:
• When waiting until the next day would require a hospital transfer
• For critical symptoms or rapidly declining patients
• In emergent conditions where time directly impacts outcome

And when not to:
• Routine follow-ups
• Known positive TB
• Ongoing, non-acute pain
• Exams needed “soon” but not urgently

Overusing STAT services slows down response times for patients in real distress. When used appropriately, they help us keep our mobile teams responsive and efficient.

Have questions about how to prioritize exams?

Reach out to your BTX Account Manager—we’re here to support your team with clarity and care.

From walking the halls to meeting with lawmakers, our staff showed up with purpose, passion, and deep commitment to the future of portable diagnostics.

Portable imaging isn’t the future of healthcare—it’s already here.
BTX is helping skilled nursing facilities, long-term care centers, and post acute-care facilities reduce costs and improve patient care every day.

If your facility isn’t using portable imaging yet, it’s time to rethink how you operate.

📩 Let’s talk about bringing imaging to your facility.

Behind the X-rays: The Miles, Manpower, and Dedication Driving Mobile Imaging

Most people don’t realize just how much ground our mobile imaging techs cover every day. At BioTech X-ray (BTX), our field team drives over 500,000 miles every month — equivalent to circling the globe 20 times — to ensure that patients in nursing homes, rehab facilities, and homebound settings receive the imaging services they need.

But behind those numbers is a massive logistical effort. With 200+ field staff and a large fleet of vehicles, coordinating routes, ensuring efficiency, and — most importantly — keeping our team safe on the road is no small task.

That’s where Ryan Causbie, our Fleet Safety Manager, plays a critical role. His job isn’t just about vehicle maintenance — it’s about protecting the people who make mobile imaging possible. From implementing advanced safety protocols to checking in with drivers when there is a harsh break or crash notification, Ryan works tirelessly to ensure that every BTX tech gets to their destination safely and on time.

Safety isn’t just a box to check — it’s a culture. Ryan’s weekly Safe Driving Update keeps the team informed on fleet performance, highlights safe driving habits, and provides seasonal reminders on road conditions, vehicle maintenance, and risk prevention. By tracking key safety metrics, he helps reinforce BioTech X-ray’s commitment to ensuring that every mile driven is as safe as possible.

With 500,000+ miles driven monthly, every decision matters — from avoiding unnecessary risk in winter weather to maintaining clean, presentable vehicles. Ryan and the Fleet team constantly monitor best practices, ensuring BioTech X-ray’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and reliability is upheld across every mile.

At BioTech X-ray, mobile imaging isn’t just about machines — it’s about the people behind them. The ones waking up early, driving across cities and states, and ensuring that no patient is left waiting for essential diagnostics. And thanks to leaders like Ryan, we can continue to expand our reach while keeping our techs safe on the road.
