Provident honors Black History Month as we reflect on the life and legacy of Jesse Jackson.
We recognize the recent loss of Rev. Jackson, whose powerful words and unwavering commitment to equality helped shape generations. His famous poem, “I Am Somebody,” remains a timeless reminder of dignity, self-worth, and inclusion, values that continue to guide our work and our culture.

This image from 1972 captures the moment he read the poem to a large group of children, encouraging them to recognize their inherent value and limitless potential. His message still resonates today: every voice matters, and every person has worth.

We appreciate all who made our 11th Spirit of Provident Gala a huge success! Sam Zeller with Team JAKEY was one of the speakers during our evening, and he summed up the importance of our work:

"This work matters. Because when someone says, 'I don’t know how to go on,' it matters that someone can answer with compassion ... not judgment. When a teenager doesn’t know where to turn, it matters that they can walk into an access center and be heard. When an adult feels overwhelmed, it matters that affordable care exists, so cost isn’t a barrier to getting help."

A very special thank you to our presenting sponsor, Edward Jones, and our remarkably generous community for helping Provident change lives and save lives.
