More tummy time isn’t always the answer.

If your baby has tension, their body is already choosing a pattern to feel stable…
→ pushing back
→ arching
→ favoring one side

So when we just do more tummy time?
We’re practicing that same pattern over and over.

And practice doesn’t make perfect…
it makes permanent.

Shift the how 👇
✨ elbows under shoulders
✨ head in midline
✨ support at hips/core

That’s when strength actually builds 🤍 Struggling with tummy time? Let’s make it easier (and actually effective)! Comment tummy time or send a DM for more info

No one teaches us what “good pooping” actually looks like for our kids so we assume the struggle is normal or may not even know the signs of a struggle 💩

We’re told “as long as they go, they’re fine”
…but going ≠ going well

Pooping should be:
✔️ soft
✔️ easy
✔️ consistent

Not straining. Not hiding. Not a daily battle. If they have to work for it… something’s off.

You don’t have to wait it out 🤍
Message me if this sounds like your kid, help is out there for lifelong success!

Confidence doesn’t come from being told “you can do it” It comes from feeling capable 💪

That’s why I love balance bikes, they teach kids how to:
✨ find their balance
✨ control their body
✨ trust themselves

If your toddler is struggling with their balance bike… don’t just wait it out

There are specific skills they might be missing and when you target those, riding gets SO much easier 👏

Try these 3 activities and see what changes 👀

And if you’re still unsure, you know where to find me 🤍

This is what sets us apart from every other pediatric physical therapy practice. We truly are a space where the whole family can get the care and love and support that they need at any point in their life ♥️

At STL Nurture Collective, everything we do is rooted in who we love to serve most 🤍

From pregnancy… to postpartum… to pediatrics… these aren’t just words on our wall—they’re the seasons of life we’re deeply passionate about supporting every single day.

Whether you’re growing a baby, healing after birth, or navigating the beautiful (and sometimes chaotic) world of raising little ones—you belong here.

And because we know life with kids doesn’t pause for appointments…
you’ll find a cozy space designed with you in mind:
❤️A play area full of toys to keep little ones busy
❤️A comfy couch to sink into
❤️And yes—coffee, because you deserve it ☕️

We’re here for moms in every season, and the babies and children they love so much.

Come as you are, we’ve made space for you 💛

So many parents I work with say… “I didn’t even know…” And honestly? That’s not your fault, it’s a sign that you have not been given the right resources to succeed!

There’s so much information out there, but not enough that’s clear, practical, and easy to use in real life.

You weren’t meant to figure this out alone 🤍
You don’t have to know everything, but you do deserve the right support.

That’s why I created my free Milestones in the First Year guide ✨ It’s simple, clear, and something you can actually use to help keep even just a little bit of stress away.

Comment MILESTONES and I’ll send it your way 🤍

If your child W sits and you’re tired of constantly telling them to “fix their feet”, this is for you 👀

The truth is, W sitting isn’t the real problem…
it’s what their body is trying to compensate for 🤍

Most of these kiddos need:
✨ postural strength + endurance (hello back-to-wall sitting)
✨ core strength through movement (try sit-to-chair transitions)
✨ hamstring mobility (tight legs = easier W sit… ball roll in pike, anyone?)

When we support the “why,” the position often changes on its own 👏

save this for later + follow along for more real-life movement tips & if you’re noticing this often or still having difficulties, I’d love to support your kiddo 💌

A lot of people out here seem to think we are out here running baby and toddler bootcamps as pediatric physical therapists 🤪

Truth is? We’re playing with a purpose ✨

if it looks like we’re “just playing”… we’re doing it right! every movement has intention, every activity builds something, and every session helps your child feel more confident in their body 🤍

because kids don’t need drills… they need connection, creativity, and the right kind of challenge. This is what pediatric PT is really about 👏

before we ask kids to move... we have to ask if they feel safe enough to try. so often, we jump
straight to:

“how do i get them to roll?”
“why won’t they sit?”
“they hate tummy time...”

but if their body feels unsure, rushed, or caught off guard, movement will feel like something to resist not because they can’t do it, but because it
doesn’t feel safe yet. This is why connection comes first. every. single. time.

→ eye contact + your voice → slow, predictable touch → gentle introduction to movement

that’s what builds trust that’s what builds confidence that’s what actually leads to progress
and honestly... it changes everything about how play feels for both of you. If your child has ever fought you during play or new movements, you’re not doing it wrong, you just might need a different starting point. If you want help making movement feel easier (and actually work), i’d love to support your family 🩷

The best care isn’t just about a diagnosis. It’s about how your child moves, plays, and shows up in their everyday life 🤍

Because your child doesn’t live in a clinic.
They live at home, at the park, on the floor, in your arms, in the moments that actually shape their development. And that’s exactly where their care should meet them ✨

You don’t have to wait until something is “wrong enough” or labeled with a diagnosis to get support ‼️

If your child is:
• struggling with a skill
• moving a little differently
• avoiding certain positions
• or just not as confident as you’d expect

That matters.

And if your gut is telling you something feels off, that matters too. At Together in Motion Therapy with Dr Alyssa, care is based on your child as they are, in real life. Not just checklists. Not just timelines. Not just diagnoses.

✨ Just thoughtful, individualized support to help them grow, move, and thrive with confidence.

You don’t need a diagnosis to start. Just a question is enough 🤍

If your baby is mastering their milestones BUT only if you help them into the starting position, they’re missing out on some very important skills and learning opportunities not only with their gross motor development but also with fine motor, cognitive, and visual skills that help lay the foundation for success years down the road 🎉

The good news: a pediatric physical therapist can help master these transitions & fill the gaps ✨
