With 30+ years of leadership in retail, Michelle is a transformative force in driving inclusive, people-centered business success. As former VP of DEI at Macy’s, she led award-winning initiatives that embedded equity and belonging into business strategy. Today, through her consulting firm Inclusive Culture Solutions, she continues to help organizations build stronger, more inclusive workplaces.

Beyond her professional impact, Michelle is deeply committed to community service in St. Louis, championing substance prevention education and leading in the D&I Consortium. We are proud to honor her with the Volunteer Award for her lasting leadership and service.

We're hiring! PreventEd is actively recruiting Peer Support Specialists to work in several counties, including Jefferson, St. Louis, and St. Louis City, with a focus on supporting prevention, treatment, and recovery of opioid use and other substance use disorders. Peer Support Specialists use their lived experience to support, encourage, and model recovery and resilience from behavioral health disorders in ways that are specific to each individual's needs.

Please welcome Leah Picker as our new Board Chair! 🤝⭐️

Leah has been with PreventEd since 2019. As an organization that resonates with her personally, she joined with the mission of engaging more deeply with the community. As Board Chair, that mission remains the same: to amplify the organization’s impact and help ensure PreventEd's services and resources are available to a growing number of people across St. Louis and our surrounding communities.

As we navigate current funding and resource shifts, these community relationships will be more important than ever. We are confident that Leah will help us to achieve our goals and work with our organization to carry out our mission every day.

We are thrilled to announce Luka Cai (they/them) as the recipient of the Service Award at our 2026 Spring Awards Luncheon! 🏆

Luka is a q***r Singaporean immigrant who co-founded St. Louis Q***r Support & Healing in 2019—a grassroots nonprofit that nurtures connection, healing, and empowerment within the St. Louis Metro Area’s LGBTQIA+ community. As SQSH's Executive Director, they strive to build spaces throughout the organization for meaningful, purpose-driven work that is rooted in trust, wholeness, and candor. Luka is passionate about exchanging tools for communication, connective relationships, and power-building, with everyone who wants to work towards a more compassionate and sustainable world.

Thanks to all the high schoolers who joined us for Hear Us and to all volunteers, chaperones and and team members who made it possible! 👏

It was so much fun advocating, learning and building relationships with one another. We appreciate all the elected officials who took the time to listen and discuss how we can work together to reduce the harms of alcohol and other drugs in Missouri's eastern region.
