Dr. Rebecca Lobb and her study team from Washington University are recruiting people who needed follow-up tests after screening for breast, cervical or colorectal cancer in the last 12 months to tell us their story. If you qualify, you will be asked to participate in a 60 minute interview in your area. After the interview, you will receive $50 for your time. The goal of the study is to learn about your experience with completing follow-up tests after the cancer screening test. Residents of Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne counties are eligible to participate. We are looking for women from Southeast Missouri who had follow-up tests after a mammogram in the last year. Eligible women will take part in a 60-minute confidential interview and will receive $50. The Siteman Cancer Center at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis has developed a website to help individuals identify their risk of developing five of the most important diseases in the United States.To use this resource, simply click on one of the five diseases and then fill out the 5 minute, online questionnaire. You will then be provided with your estimated risk, along with ways to decrease this risk.
