Today I want to be a little more transparent with y’all.
Something happened at work that I’ve never experienced in my entire nursing career. It caught me off guard, honestly intimidated me for a moment, and my anxiety shot straight to a 10. I was in the middle of it, trying to process, trying to stay professional, trying not to let my thoughts run wild.
But you know what?
I paused. I owned my part. I apologized where it was needed. And then I kept going.
The situation didn’t define my shift. It didn’t ruin my day. And thankfully, it didn’t turn into anything worse than what it was. Once I moved through it, I realized something important: even after years of experience, even when you’re doing your best, life will still throw moments at you that shake you a little.
And that’s okay.
We’re all going to have hiccups. We’re all going to make mistakes. We’re all going to have moments where our anxiety speaks louder than our confidence. What matters is how we respond—how we learn, how we grow, and how we refuse to let one moment stop our momentum.
If you’re in a season right now where it feels like there’s no end to the madness, I promise you… there is. Sometimes the breakthrough is simply getting through the moment and choosing not to quit.
Today reminded me that strength isn’t about never stumbling—it’s about getting back up, finishing your shift, finishing your day, and trusting that everything really will work out just fine.
If you needed this reminder today, this is it. Keep going. 💛
