Eyeglass Care
1. Clean your glasses daily
You wear your glasses everywhere you go. This means that smudges, dirt, and dust can accumulate all the time. We recommend cleaning your lenses at least once every day so you don't have to strain your eyes looking through dirty glasses and ensuring your glasses are free of germs.
2. Rinse Your Glasses or Use Glasses Spray
Rinse your glasses with water first, or spray them with a glasses cleaning solution. When tiny dust and dirt particles stick to your lenses, there's a high chance that dry-wiping your glasses can move them around and create micro-scratches on your lens. Avoid household cleaners on your glasses. These contain harsh chemicals, which will deteriorate the coatings on your lenses.
3. Wipe your glasses with the right cloth
DO NOT dry your lenses with paper towels, tissues, or napkins. While these materials might seem soft on your skin, their textured surfaces can badly scratch your lenses. Using the tip of your shirt is also a bad idea. If it isn't 100% cotton, then there is a high-chance that it will leave micro-abrasions on your lenses. A proper cleansing cloth or microfiber towel should be used when cleaning your lenses.
Lucky for you, The Eyeglass Repair Guys gives one free microfiber cloth and storage case with every complete pair of eyeglasses you purchase! We also have proper cleaning kits available for purchase.
