Our Story

Founded in 2016, the Jenkins Donelson Foundation (JDF) made a commitment to improve foot care in the United States and around the globe. We met The JDF mission to promote good foot health through education, services, and products by giving shoes, socks and foot care supplies to the homeless and underserved. We also created interactive Foot Health Fairs and recruited podiatrists to volunteer at Free Clinics.

Three years later, in 2019, The JDF has helped underserved in 7 states and 2 countries. We also expanded our mission to “promote foot health and healthy lifestyles for the underserved.” We now create interactive Health Fairs which emphasize diabetes education. We still give away shoes, socks, and foot care supplies but now we ‘supersize’ our distributions with clothing, blankets, toys and/or housewares to those in need.

Our volunteer efforts to recruit assistance for Free Clinics has also grown. Our relationship with podiatrists and medical professionals continues to flourish and we appreciate their generous support as we redistribute their unused diabetic shoes, gently used shoes and foot care supplies.
