Atria Stamford had a very happy Halloween! We kicked the day off by making trick-or-treat bags for relatives visiting the building 🎃. Our Halloween Party included pumpkin painting, spooky treats, and a costume contest for residents and staff! Congrats to our costume contest winners, the Queen of Hearts and our witches 🧙‍♀️!

After 23 incredible years, we celebrate the journey of Dwayne Sterling as he transitions to a new role as Executive Director at Atria Darien.

Dwayne began his career at Atria Stamford as a member of the waitstaff and steadily rose through five key leadership roles. Restaurant Manager, Director of Culinary Services, Business Director, and most recently, Resident Relations Director. His path has been defined by dedication, excellence, and a deep commitment to our residents.

Dwayne’s impact is immeasurable. His warmth, professionalism, and ability to bring people together have left a lasting legacy. While we’ll miss him dearly, we’re thrilled about his well-deserved promotion and excited for the next chapter in his career.

Today we took a trip to Sherwood Island for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Our residents, families, and staff worked hard to fundraise for Atria Senior Living to sponsor this year’s walk! Thank you to all who helped us support the Alzheimer’s Association and the fight to end Alzheimer’s 💜.

Yesterday’s lunch special was a delicious treat for our residents! We served a beautiful Japanese bento box featuring teriyaki chicken, pan-fried dumplings, fresh salad with tangy dressing, seasoned rice, and pickled radish. A perfect balance of flavor, color, and nutrition our residents enjoyed every bite!

October is Polish American Heritage Month, and today we celebrated with a special Taste of Atria lunch! The menu for Taste of Atria: Poland included pierogi with caramelized onions,
kielbasa sausage with sauerkraut, and
Sernik (Polish cheesecake) with a chocolate glaze.

After lunch, for our Fork to Film series we watched “The Zookeeper’s Wife.” We love to celebrate cultures other than our own, and the day was made extra special because our Administrative Assistant Jola is Polish!

Yesterday, we celebrated Taste of Atria: Guatemala! Taste of Atria is an opportunity to try a delicious meal from another culture, and celebrate that culture through film throughout the day!

Our residents learned about Guatemalan food and culture, and the day was made extra special because our very own Chef Carlos is Guatemalan! He helped develop a menu that featured authentic Guatemalan cuisine.

♠️✨Casino Royale at Atria Stamford!✨🎲

Yesterday we hit the jackpot at our Casino Royale Social Series Event! Our residents experienced an exciting afternoon of blackjack, roulette, craps, and poker. It was a dazzling afternoon of prizes, hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and our photo booth.

Everyone had a ton of fun winning big alongside their friends and families!

A Splash of Joy in Every Stroke! Today our memory care residents embraced their inner artists with a relaxing watercolor painting session. The room was filled with laughter, creativity, and beautiful colors as each person brought their imagination to life on paper.

These moments remind us that art is not just about the final product it’s about connection, expression, and the joy of being present together.
