VoiceScapes Audio Theater brought their plays to us! Their skits featured award-winning sound engineers, actors, writers, and producers! It was an afternoon full of laughs!

Today we traveled to Greece for Taste of Atria: Greece! We started off the day learning about the food and culture of the Greek islands and then headed to lunch. The menu included: Spanakopita, Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki Sauce and Pita Bread, and Baklava for dessert! We finished the day with our Fork to Film movie: “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” What a great way to wrap up this year’s Taste of Atria celebrations!

Our memory care residents enjoyed a wonderful outing this week to Rye Playland The day was filled with laughter, scenic views, and the joy of being together. After exploring, everyone gathered for a delicious lunch at Park Way Diner that made the trip even more special.

Atria Stamford had a very happy Halloween! We kicked the day off by making trick-or-treat bags for relatives visiting the building 🎃. Our Halloween Party included pumpkin painting, spooky treats, and a costume contest for residents and staff! Congrats to our costume contest winners, the Queen of Hearts and our witches 🧙‍♀️!

After 23 incredible years, we celebrate the journey of Dwayne Sterling as he transitions to a new role as Executive Director at Atria Darien.

Dwayne began his career at Atria Stamford as a member of the waitstaff and steadily rose through five key leadership roles. Restaurant Manager, Director of Culinary Services, Business Director, and most recently, Resident Relations Director. His path has been defined by dedication, excellence, and a deep commitment to our residents.

Dwayne’s impact is immeasurable. His warmth, professionalism, and ability to bring people together have left a lasting legacy. While we’ll miss him dearly, we’re thrilled about his well-deserved promotion and excited for the next chapter in his career.

Congratulations, Dwayne and thank you for everything! 👏

Today we took a trip to Sherwood Island for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Our residents, families, and staff worked hard to fundraise for Atria Senior Living to sponsor this year’s walk! Thank you to all who helped us support the Alzheimer’s Association and the fight to end Alzheimer’s 💜.

Yesterday’s lunch special was a delicious treat for our residents! We served a beautiful Japanese bento box featuring teriyaki chicken, pan-fried dumplings, fresh salad with tangy dressing, seasoned rice, and pickled radish. A perfect balance of flavor, color, and nutrition our residents enjoyed every bite!

October is Polish American Heritage Month, and today we celebrated with a special Taste of Atria lunch! The menu for Taste of Atria: Poland included pierogi with caramelized onions,
kielbasa sausage with sauerkraut, and
Sernik (Polish cheesecake) with a chocolate glaze.

After lunch, for our Fork to Film series we watched “The Zookeeper’s Wife.” We love to celebrate cultures other than our own, and the day was made extra special because our Administrative Assistant Jola is Polish!

During Law & Order, residents engage with our criminal justice system as they discuss, investigate, prosecute, and come to a verdict on fascinating legal cases!
