Our latest news
Thank you for your patience during the worst year ever! I have some good news, I’m opening my business to existing clients on January 23rd. It’s by appointment only, Saturdays from 12-6 pm, and a few flex time by request during the week.
Can you believe it’s been nearly 10 months since Covid shut down massage therapy? I knew I wasn’t going to be the first to reopen, but now that massage has been legally allowed to be open for several months in CT, regular testing is available, and I’ve gotten some best practices above and beyond reopening guidelines from my friends who have started working in June, I’m opening with new protocols and PPE requirements.
Here’s how things will be different:

I’ve always intended to go digital with my forms in my 5 year plan, the pandemic just moved the schedule up because it makes sense now. So please note that as part of your confirmation email, there will be a link to complete your health intake form that must be done before your appointment. It should take around 5-10 minutes tops and will be updated annually. Also there will be a covid pre-screening form that must be completed before your appointment.
I’ve temporarily suspended cupping and hot stone massages during the first phase of my business reopening. But I’ve also added a shorter spot treatment and a Peaceful Grounding Escape that incorporates sound, aromatherapy, and massage.

It’s been a challenging past year for many. I’ve personally experienced a significant loss of my partner in life in July. Worst year ever to say the least. But I am a lucky one in that half of my support system are massage therapists, and I have the best friends and family. All those tools we’ve discussed in the past for grounding and self care have been critical in the last 6 months of my journey. I debated whether to share this shocking news, but decided that I for sure didn’t want anyone of you to hear it near your massage appointment, and it’s a part of my reality now. Which brings me to “Lou”. There’s precedence in my family to change their name after a significant life changing event. So I’ve chosen to start going by my middle name Louise, Lou for short.
I received my first Covid era massage in October in preparation of coming back to work. There is such a need for massage therapy as part of the healing from 2020 initiative. I can’t say it’s without risk and respect your decision with when you’re comfortable to return to receiving massage. But when you’re ready, I’m here.
Warmest regards,
H. Lou Klosson, LMT
