Whole-body scanning can be used to perform examinations within a medical institution as well as at a distance. Social distancing in the era of the Covid-19 means maintaining a distance of 6 feet between persons while traditional physical examination requires the facilitation of exams by close inspection at 6 inches. At Melanoscan we are reinventing the physical examination for the safety of our patients.

Your children are your most precious asset and melanoma is the most common cancer death in young adults. The delay between developing a melanoma and dying is estimated to require several decades. These cancers will only be detectable on a reliable basis by early identification of high risk children followed by scanning. The studies supporting this dramatic statement is based on the largest and longest study ever performed in whole body tracking for melanoma, with a technique known as Total Immersion Photography. This several decade study has outlined the exact pace at which melanoma develops. According to the long term study of melanoma growth, the average delay in diagnosis of melanoma is 11.2 years. Furthermore, the average time to death is 6 years from the initial melanoma biopsy of a thin melanoma. We have so much to learn about melanoma.

Pediatric melanoma diagnoses are increasing in the U.S. by 2% each year, and are often delayed and/or misdiagnosed.
